I have no idea. I had an angiogram but I didn't have to take any tablets. Did they say why you had to take them?

What is the name of the drug? It is possibly a drug to limit blood clotting. I had an angiogram in April followed by an angioplasty a week later. Immediately after the angiogram I was given a large loading dose of Clopidogrel followed by a daily dose in preparation for the angioplasty. I have to continue taking it for a year. It is an antiplatelet drug to stop the blood clotting. However, it wasn't water soluble and I couldn't taste anything.

Its to protect the kidneys from the effects of the dye.Had an angio 16 yrs ago and didnt have tabs then so its either an age thing or the consultants choice. Bumph that came with tabs says it smells of sulphur so YUK

Sounds nasty! I was just told to drink lots of water to flush the dye out!

What does it matter what they taste like you have to take them and they might save your life.

It matters because if i drink anything nasty I throw up and so want to know just how unpleasant it is so that I can find out whether adding squash or similar is ok
