Brave Leah Davy dreams of becoming a dancer, despite being unable to put her feet on the floor due to a chronic cerebral palsy condition.
The five-year-old's family are now on a mission to raise £35,000 so the little girl can receive spinal operation that will finally help her take her first steps.
Inspirational Leah, from Rowley Regis, suffers from spastic diplegia, which leaves her leg muscles so tight she is unable to place her feet on the ground.
Leah hopes to have a pioneering operation to cut nerves in her spinal cord to allow her to walk, and maybe even do her first dance steps, reports the Birmingham Mail.
But the selective dorsal rhizotomy procedure is not available on the NHS in the Midlands, and her family are determined to raise the vital funds themselves, so Leah can have the operation in Liverpool or Bristol.
“The operation would mean that she could be normal, and play catch with her friends,” said Mum Katherine Davy, her full-time carer.
In the last year supporters of ‘Leah’s Wish’ have managed to raise an incredible £12,000 towards Katherine’s campaign, through entertainment nights, bag-packing at Asda in Oldbury and kind donations.
