hi, my face was burned 1 year and 3 months ago. scars are still very visible, i still want to die, but i think i need to get a job now, for what? i dont know. I just want to know what jobs do disfigured people do? i wanted to be a teacher, but now i don't want to face people anymore. I dont know what to do, i wish i never wake up from my sleep.

Hello i understand how you feel, i had a eye and half my face removed. i found it very hard at first . But i taught myself if people judge me by the way i look , i dont need that type of friends. There are people who will accept you. I was also a teacher and now study to be a counsellor and hopefully help people who have suffered like i did. i found the most important thing is to concertrate on the things you love to do , for me that was music and motorcycles. Its not easy but i try to think of the positives in my life not the negatives. And when the negatives are too much ,i put on some music so i dont go down the dark hole. Also i set myself targets such as fitness, study to divert my thinking from what i have been through. if you need to talk just tell me.

Hi IWantToHaveHope, I completely understand how you feel, I have felt like that many times. I am currently looking for a job too. I used to be a teaching assistant, but decided on a career change. I realised I had a choice, I could either stay at home depressed letting other people's judgements rule my life along with my negative thoughts or I could get out there contribute to society, make some friends and enjoy my life and not give a stuff what others thought of me. It's hard work not letting others get you down but it's like a muscle, the more you work it the stronger you get. You have a right to get a job and make something of your life, don't let 5he ignorance of others stop you. I really hope things improve for you. Take little steps and you'll get there.

Hi IWantToHaveHope Thank you for your post.

It sounds like you have been through a really difficult time, and I can hear that you have expressed feeling suicidal. This sounds really hard for you. We strongly suggest you speak to your doctor about getting support and if at any time you feel like you may act on these thoughts, contact the emergency services in your country.

I also see that you mentioned wanting to get a new job. This sounds really positive. It may take some time, but it could be helpful to do research online and ask people who know you for ideas. It could be that you need to try out different roles to find a job that feels right for you.

Take Care of yourself,
