Hello DPDEBWARRIOR and welcome to the Changing Faces community! Thank you for sharing about your Rosacea, it sounds like things have been really challenging for you. I’m sure other people here can identify with the feelings you shared about being anxious to go out and feeling very self-conscious about it. There are other people here who have Rosacea too and hopefully they'll see your post and offer some support.

Best Wishes

Tiffany

Hi there DPDEBWARRIOR. I'm really sorry to hear that you're struggling at the moment, it sounds like things are quite difficult. It doesn't sound like your Doctor has been much help - would you be able to see a different GP, or ask them for further help? For example, you could ask to be referred to a specialist dermatologist who might be able to help you out further.

If the cost of specialist skincare products is an issue, then there are still plenty of things you can do to help manage your condition, or at least help you feel more in control. If you identify what triggers flare-ups in your skin, then knowing them might help you avoid them and prevent there flare-ups. Also, simple things like using an SPF daily and avoiding rubbing/scrubbing your skin may help too.

Depersonalisation and the disorders associated with it can be incredibly difficult. Having been diagnosed with one too a few years ago, and having had Rosacea for most of my life, I understand how hard these two things can be to manage. The one thing I always tell myself when I am struggling with depersonalisation is that no matter how scary it feels and how anxious it makes me, it cannot hurt me. There is no feeling quite like it, but at all times you are safe and it will pass.

Mind, the mental health charity, have some resources on depersonalisation and associated disorders, which you might find helpful. They also provide organisations you can get in touch with if you want to:

- mind.org.uk/information-sup... (this page suggests some things you can do to help yourself, as well as some useful contacts)

If you want some more information about Rosacea, and what you can do to manage it, then this might be of some help:

- knowyourskin.britishskinfou... (especially their self-help section)

I'm sorry that things are hard for you at the minute. As hard as it may be, it is important to remember that you are loved, people care about you, and this will pass. If you are really struggling, it is important that you reach out. If you are having thoughts of hurting yourself or the people around you, go to your local A&E, or call your GP and ask for an urgent appointment.

Stay safe, and best wishes 🙂
