Did you know that if you are a carer and have had to stop work, you can get your national insurance contributions credited to help towards your pension. If you haven't already applied for this, do so - I wish I had!

Yes, I'm fine but so angry at the moment. It's my mother's 100th birthday and I bought some sparkler candles for the cake along with lots of other things from the Range. Unfortunately I picked up 2 -'1s' and 1 - '0' in stead of 1x1 and 2x 0. I popped in to swap it and the jobsworth on the customer services (that's a joke, no service there) refused as I hadn't got the receipt. It cost £1 and I told her I just wanted to swap it. She insisted that if she did that the shop would be out of pocket!! I couldn't convince her otherwise so eventually I lost my temper. You'd think they'd want to keep their customers. If it had been a valuable item I could understand it, but a cake candle! Right rant over. Hope all is well with you, Jules and hope your mum is feeling a bit more positive now, she sounded really down the other day.

Ah hello there again Jan, Jules here.

How lovely of you to do that for you mum - i find anything like that normally ends up with me loosing temper with customer services (or my new one of putting hands on head and having a deep desire to crouch on the floor).

Mum has been VERY quiet - hoping she will read this and decide to come over and visit for a relax with me.... do us both good. We dont talk a lot, we dont have to - nice just knowing how the other is feeling with people around us. She recons her side of the family live long lives so i will probably be in your shoes one day. Mum haggles for everything in Gambia (its the culture there) but problem is she continued to do it here in Fenwicks/Marks and sparks - so funny. She will insist on getting the candles herself.

I am 'angry' right now because of the medical appointments i have had to attend recently. I know i have to and i am grateful, but they are all because of the crash. Everything in my life leads back to the crash.

Its not right is it to spend a life like that.
