Tuesday Round-up

Hi everyone and a late start to the week for my post, as I was unexpectedly away over the long weekend.

Starting as always by welcoming any new members who have joined us over the past week. Please feel welcome here and free to join in with your posts and comments.

May's here, but whatever happened to May weather this year? I suppose that traditionally we have to suffer wind and rain on Bank Holidays, but still, something a little warmer would have been happily received, especially in view of the fact that we have to socialise outdoors.

I was lucky enough to end up spending my weekend in the heart of nature in the New Forest, which is, despite bad weather, looking very springlike and the trees are now rapidly greening up. It was really lovely to be looking at trees other than the two outside my own apartment building.

We visited Lyndhurst on Sunday and that was amazingly almost back to normal with most of the businesses open and cafes and pubs all set up for sitting outside and social distancing. So it was really pleasant.

And how about for all of you? Were you able to do anything to help you enjoy the long weekend, and hopefully some of you were able to find ways to meet up with family.

Pleased you had a nice weekend. I've just posted on PWB that my friend has been over this morning and cut and permed my hair, so I've lost some weight today 😊

Thanks Jennymary. I've just seen your post on PWB too and can tell you are a whole new woman! Definitely the biggest reason for some retail therapy that I can think of! Hope you enjoy your shopping! 😊

Hi Callendersgal, it seems as if you had a lovely weekend in the New Forest. A beautiful part of the country.

It’s horrible weather, cold and wet. I’m wondering when some warmth will come our way. Nice to be able to get away and enjoy some normality of sorts.

We didn’t really do anything over the weekend but enjoyed it anyway.

Is that a new forest pony in the pic then?

Had Sunday lunch out at the local pub with my sister in law on the Sunday which we enjoyed.

Yesterday we had a nice walk out in spite of the bad weather!

Yes it is a New Forest pony Catgirl1976. I don't know if you know the forest but they wander around just as they please, often bringing traffic to a standstill. But it's always lovely to come upon them, and donkeys too, sometimes. The only way to deal with the sort of weather we have here is just to grit your teeth and do things anyway. Someone once said that there's no such thing as bad weather, only wrong clothing, and that's probably right. But how to decide what weather you'll get for a day? One minute sun, the next rain and the next it's a howling gale. I think it's just all about expecting the unexpected!

Hi Sue, looks like you had a lovely time down there in the Black Forest and what a lovely picture you caught of the horse roaming free, just a pity that the weather hasn't been good but it didn't stop you from having a great weekend .Clive X 🤗

Hi Clive, the weather was a bit of a dampener for sure, but it didn't spoil our time away. It was cosy indoors and we really enjoyed the peace and beauty of the forest! I hope you enjoyed your weekend too, whatever you did! 👍😊🙏

It is Clive... I remember our holiday in Cumbria a couple of years ago! And when we used to travel up to Scotland in winter a lot, it was always around Carlisle that we'd see our first snow!
