Quotation for Thursday 4th June 2020

Hi everyone,

This isn't the quotation I had planned for today. It just popped up on my phone and it's actually quite a good one. It comes from Thornton Wilder and I'm embarrassed to say I had to look him up to find out that he was an American playwright and novelist with no less than 3 Pulitzer prizes to his name! Clearly there's a big gap in my education and I'll be looking into his work later today.

Anyway he said:

"My advice to you is not to inquire why or whither, but just to enjoy your ice cream while it's on your plate".

I think I agree. We tend to spend far too much time concentrating on the side issues when we should be dealing with what's on our plate right now. Doesn't mean not attending to the why and whither later, but there's merit in being Zen and fully concentrating on the current moment, e.g. 'When eating ice-cream, eat ice-cream'.

Do you agree?

Hope you all enjoy today! 😃☀️

Morning Callendersgal, I completely agree with your quote today. How wonderful just to enjoy the moment, I need to do that more often. I’m prone to overthink things and can sometimes miss quiet, reflective and enjoyable moments.

Have an enjoyable day and stay safe and well everyone. Xx🦋🌻🌼😘🌈

I'm bad for that too sassy59! Worse at the moment, if anything. So after reading that quote I'm going to take time today to really savour that bag of crisps, or biscuit or piece of music.... whatever it is I'm doing! Take care and as always, keep staying safe.xxx☀️🌈😊🙏
