Good morning everyone,

Today’s the start of a brave new world for some people in England, as they are being encouraged to return to work. And the rest of us have the opportunity to spend more time outside in the open air. There are some strange anomalies arising from the new rules we’ve been given, and as well as our anxieties there’s beginning to be an overwhelming desire to be with the people we love the most. We want to touch and hug and kiss, but it’s really far too soon. As humans though, it is a basic need for us.

So while we continue to wait and to try to stay safe, here are a few words from Kahlil Gibran, the writer and painter on love and separation.

He said:

"Ever has it been that loves knows not its own depth, until the hour of separation".

I absolutely agree!

Have a good day and most especially, continue to stay safe.

I completely agree with the quote Callendersgal. I yearn to hug my family but know that I can’t. I’m fearful too of the case numbers going up again. The virus is still very much with us so we really do need to be careful and stay safe.

I wish everyone well. Better days ahead.

Take care xxxx 👍🌈😘

there are some wonderful anomalies where my partner and I can meet up with his sister in the park as there is only one of her but she cannot meet up with us as there are two of us..........funny old life isn't it?

What is really hard is to grieve alone

My husband died in the 15th April from one infection too many. I was able to be with him so I feel I ensured he had a good death.i have been shielding all the time as just over70 but healthy. I long to go to my daughter in Sussex even if only for a few days to clear my head of frustrations with step children ,problems with wills, slow banks etc. It seems that people can go to work and garden centres but not help their mental health. I have an excellent network of friends to talk to , on the phone but it is not the same as a physical presence . I thank God for my dogs daily

It is not only frustrating Sueswim, but also quite cruel for you, given your recent bereavement. I honestly don't know how some people are now managing to stick to the rules. There comes a tipping point for many, I'm sure. You must be absolutely longing for hugs from your own familiar loved ones. Dogs and pets are lovely and give us a level of love and companionship, but no, it's absolutely not the same. I feel for you and hope you'll soon be able to be reunited. 🙏
