Quotation for Wednesday 29th April 2020

β€’8 Replies

Good morning everyone,

A new poll in the Positive Wellbeing community asks 'What is the first thing that you will you do when the lockdown is over?' (If you aren't already a member, it's simple to join and add your vote). I suppose that it's no surprise that out in front by a long way in the poll, is meeting up with family and friends.

And with that in mind, today I've chosen the words of Patrick Hawes' 'Quanta Qualia'. I hope it will help us all wait patiently. It sums up longing, in only a few words.

First in Latin and then the English translation:

'Anima mea

mane!

Quanta Qualia'

conventus gaudia

erunt.'

'OH MY SOUL

WAIT

HOW GREAT AND HOW WONDERFUL

THE MOMENT OF MEETING

WILL BE'

Here's a link to the original sung version.

Hoping you all have an enjoyable day.πŸ™

Thank you Callendersgal for your thoughtful post. I would definitely vote to properly meet family again after lockdown. Just to invite them in would be wonderful.

Thank you for all you do. Enjoy your day.

Stay safe and well. Xx 😘❀️🌈

Hi Callendersgal, I have just listened to this and it is really beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I have to admit it brought tears to my eyes as I thought about my recently departed dad. The words and sentiment are uplifting and poignant all at the same time.

Hi Hellebelle, I must admit I seldom get through listening to this without a tear or two. Hope I didn't make you too sad! I've just spotted my mistake in the heading date! Yet another example of not knowing whether it's Wednesday or Saturday! 🀣 I'd better amend it....

It was great to know about this. It didn't make me too sad. I think it's a tribute to my lovely dad that it made me think of him. ❀
