My cardiologist says that I should have a
cardioversion
as my heart has 4 second pauses. He says that the pauses are nothing to worry about at below 6 seconds. Do any of you have pauses like this?

I am due to have cardio version and the doctor says that the risk of stroke increases after the procedure. I would welcome any more information on the risks so I can make a decision

Cardioversion for irregular but normal range heartbeat
From posts read it seems most who have
Cardioversion
have episodes of higher rate HB. My questions please: -For those who with normal range HB what was your success period of NSR if any at all. -Of this group who was prescribed additional medication post
cardioversion
.

Well, after 3 years in Afib and a failed ablation I had a
cardioversion
just over a week ago, and I am pleased to say I am in Normal Sinus Rhythm ( well, fingers crossed )!..Just a point. I was a runner before getting Afib, so my pulse was always low ( High 40's, 50 )...

Cardioversion fail.
cardioversion
on Saturday. AFib back on Wednesday. May try another with medication before and after. Had been told persistent AFib CV has a 60% failure in first 2 weeks so not unduly surprised. Still very disappointed after all the wait.

Cardioversion experience
Mine is due soon. Would really appreciate some feedback on forum members actual experience both on the day and the the following couple of weeks. Would also be good to know who had new medication straight away afterwards to try and make the procedure successful. Thanks for any contributions.

Fluid build up
My partner is scheduled for a
Cardioversion
no fixed date but should be 6 days after preliminary appointment which is on 13/3/24. He has a lot of fluid building up in his legs and probably elsewhere. My question is does anyone know if having fluid will stop the
Cardioversion
from going ahead.

Looking for anyone in similar situation re Cardioversion
Had Echo, Consultant review and on list for
Cardioversion
end of Feb. I have no idea that my HB is irregular. Only real symptom is finding it tougher going on hills. I’ve read people reports after
cardioversion
when they say NSR only lasted a few hours, days, whatever.

Post Cardioversion
In my previous post I explained that my 3rd carioversion did not work even after one hour I was back into afib. However something strange is happening or at least it seems strange to me but may be normal. Five days after my cardio I got up around 2:30-3:00 am to use the loo. I could feel my heart in

The arrhythmia nurse wants me to reduce my bisoprolol dose after my cardioversion - fear of early relapse.
I had a 2nd successful
cardioversion
5 days ago, and the arrhythmia nurse told me to reduce my dose of bisoprolol immediately from 7.5mg to 5mg as my heart rate was around 50bpm.

Hi everyone I had my
cardioversion
today and it was successful. Thank you everyone for your support and you were all right it wasn’t as bad as I had imagined. When the consultant came to see me before discharge he was a bit perturbed!

After my pre op this morning I have decided to go ahead with the
cardioversion
next Thursday. I can’t say I won’t be anxious and wary but I think it will be for the best.

After cardioversion
Hi me again My husband had a
cardioversion
on Friday. It wasn't the same as usual when he has had Arrythmia but for severe atrial flutter and it was a rushed job in A & E where he was only partially sedated so he felt it. His heart rhythm/ speed is back to normal but he feels rubbish.
