Carboplatin alternatives
I had 6 cycles of
Carboplatin
and Paclitaxel, radical surgery, two more chemo cycles then Niraparib for just over a year until it stopped working and my CA125 began to rise rapidly. Surgery was considered and dismissed following PET scan and I then had six cycles of Caelyx with
Carboplatin
.

Carboplatin and gemcitabine
hi , has anyone had the combination of
Carboplatin
and gemcitabine . This may be my next course of treatment with
Carboplatin
plus gemcitabine one week, then gemcitabine only the second week with the 3rd week off. Gemcitabine seems to have some nasty side effects!!!

I’m on my second recurrence and currently on carbo/gemcitabine.. ive had a reaction on last three cycles each one being harder than the last.. my question is has this happened to anyone else and , if so what was was the outcome? It’s been mentioned they may slow carb infusion over Two hour period

Good news from the ATTLAS trial for patients with EGFR mutations and ALK translocations.
Treatment with atezolizumab, bevacizumab, paclitaxel, and
carboplatin
(ABCP) was significantly more effective than pemetrexed plus
carboplatin
or cisplatin https://dailynews.ascopubs.org/do/atezolizumab-bevacizumab-and-chemotherapy-improves-pfs-egfr---alk--mutated-nsclc-after?

UK Cabazitaxel/Carboplatin availability
Now, with the decision to switch from Docetaxel to Cabazataxel, my local hospital has told me that the only way to combine it with
Carboplatin
, is to pay £1,500 per cycle. This would mean a total cost of £15,000.

Chemo in Tablet Form
I have gone through all the various chemo treatments available (pacitaxol,
carboplatin
, Caelyx, Gemcitabine, Niraparib and a trial. I was hoping to go on another trial but due to plural effusion, collapsed lung etc unfortunately I cannot now do this.

Reaction to Taxol (Paclitaxel) and alternatives?
I had my first chemo last week and reacted to the taxol (paclitaxel) so could only receive bev and
carboplatin
. I will be switched to taxotere for my next treatment. Wondering if anyone else has had a reaction to taxol and then received taxotere.

?

Colostomy
Since then, have undergone 6 cycles of chemo (avastin,
Carboplatin
, taxol). Now, am anticipating for surgery on Feb 27 ( in 3 weeks). My surgery told me there’s a 50/50 chance I will need colostomy ( tumor pressing on my rectum).

Update following meeting with MO
I got a second opinion via email from Professor DeBono at Royal Marsden and he basically said that given my situation, either cabazitaxel or
carboplatin
(or both) is the next (and only remaining) treatment available.

2nd recurrence
So the have started me on another course of 6 rounds of Pacitaxol/
Carboplatin
. I’ve been told that my cancer is slightly more difficult to treat as it was Stage 2 Grade 3 adenocarcinomasarcoma. Are there any other ladies out there with the same diagnosis.

Seeking anyone familiar with aggressive small cell neuroendocrine prostate cancer and/or with lurbinectedin as 2nd line chemotherapy.
MSS, TMB low) I had 4 cycles of
carboplatin
/etoposide chemotherapy, which ended in March 2024 because a CT scan with contrast indicated a net increase in tumor burden.

Chemo question
I had my first taxol/
carboplatin
treatment last week. I had an allergic reaction shortly after starting. Then on days 3-6 I had severe sharp pains in my bones in my back and legs that broke through my pain meds. Now on day 8 I am still struggling with pain, bloating and nauseousness.

Caelyx
I finished 6 cycles of
carboplatin
/paclitaxel at end Oct and it seemed to have really worked on the cancer that is in my liver and peritoneum so following advice of my oncologist I’ve had a break as I’ve been on chemo of some kind or other since Sept 21.
