Saw my oncologist today

They did have to remove the upper right lobe. Surgeon sent me home "temporarily" on oxygen. I am now 3 weeks post op, healing nicely (but wish this nerve pain in my right side would go away). Anyway, oncologist took me off the oxygen :) . He also told me that my cancer was staged at 1a, no chemo, no radiation. He said the cancer looked like it had started to invaded the plura, so he got a consult from the radiologist just to make sure there was no further treatment needed.

I get a CT scan and see him in 3 months.

Katherine,

This is really good news. My older brother was in the same situation 8 months ago and has been doing really well. He did have a cough for a number of months post surgery, but the surgeon thought it was related to the surgery and that it would go away over time. It seems that it has disapated and is almost gone at this point. Keeping my fingers crossed that you have a similar path.

Joel
