Ovarian cancer is one of the most common causes of deaths in women. This forum is doing great job for spreading knowledge and awareness. What is ovarian cancer? It is basically any abnormal cancerous growth that occurs in the ovary. Like all other cancers, ovarian cancer also a result of uncontrolled or unregulated cell division and multiplication. The exact reasons of ovarian cancer are not known. Family history is also very important. If some women have a close relative who had ovarian cancer or breast cancer, she has greater chances of developing ovarian cancer than others. Age is also a very important factor. Most of the women get it by the age of 60 or mostly post menopause. It’s very rare before 40, but figures are changing very rapidly. Another interesting fact about ovarian cancer is that if a woman has more pregnancies the chances of getting cancer are very rare. I tried to share some of the factors that are responsible for ovarian cancer.

Stacey,

Have you heard about the recent finding that hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC), when added to interval cytoreductive surgery, is associated with improved outcomes in patients with stage III epithelial ovarian cancer, according to a study in the New England Journal
