I am Croque & I used to be on Healthunlocked as I had Irrital Bowel & stress related conditions. My Dr sent me to an IB Dr who suggested I should have a colonoscopy, when I had it the same Dr did the colonoscopy & found a large polyp. I had a call to go to hospital & I started crying as I knew it would be bad news. I had to see a lovely lady surgeon who said the polyph was cancerous & I must have an operation to remove it. I was in hospital for 1 week & then I went back to see her, she said she'd removed the polyp & 24 lymph nodes & just 1 was cancerous biput they thought I needed a course of chemotherapy as the cancer can travel around the body, & gave me books to decide which sort of chemo to have. We decided with the help of MacMillan to have injections at hospital rather than tablets at home & there is the support at hospital. I rang & told the Drs Secretary but heard nothing, after 6 weeks I rang again & the Sec said she had no trace of the call, then she found it & said she would chase The chemo Dr up. Within an hour I had a call to say I needed chemo ASAP & could we go to hospital the next day! I have had the first lot of chemo last week.
