I am a 63 yr old male. I have had Peripheral Neuropathy for 2.5 yrs. Have been through a full cycle of pain disorder symtoms that were localized and now they seem to be moving around in location and intensity (sometimes mild sometimes severe in my feet. The skin on my hands is also thinning. . I have always been a moderate drinker with no ill effects untiI had a blunt force impact to all 10 toes at the same time, hard enough to sever the top 1/4 of my left big toe. I had surgery and the neuropathy kicked in 2 weeks later. I have tried and still do Vitamin B therapy with Folic Acid which so far seems ineffective. What I am doing which I can share is that I bought a 500 ML tub of a cream with 11% xylocaine for @ $100 US direct from Korea (paid no duty or taxes), tattoo parlors use the same stuff. The only thing that Canada offers is a medium sized toothpaste tube filled with a more concentrated concoction with 5% xylocaine. They both offer temporary relief of the most painful episodes.

Thanks for sharing this. I live in England and don’t know what xylocaine is but will look it up. I used a bit of capsaicin yesterday and that helped. Like you have not had this long but am 70

Are you on any analgesia for your neuropathic pain? I am on a moderate dose of Gabapentin which makes the pain bearable but does not take away the numbness, tingling and the feeling of a tight bandage around my lower legs etc. I don't use any creams etc but massaging with lavender oil is soothing. I have Vitamin B12 injections every 3 months. I'm lucky that my upper limbs are unaffected- at the moment. Hilsho47
