Braij retraining therpy and hearing aid for healthy hearing people with t
yes - an in-ear device (similar to Hearing aid) for T sound therapy , could be a good idea - can u get these on NHS , as I dont know. I expect these are available to buy through an audiologist - I dont know much about these myself as i dont use them
But i got no hearing lost
Is this what yr post refers to?? it seems so . Its an in-ear device -it looks like hearing aids , but it is NOT a hearing aid - these provide tinnitus sound / retraining therapy , without blocking other sounds and can be worn for long periods of time . I havent tried these , but i have read about them. I dont know if u can get this sort of device on NHS , its possible . Can be purchased but would be expensive . I think these would be best for people who hear their T all the time - do u hear yr tinnitus all day , every day?
there are other sound therapy options - like a tinnitus app on yr mobile and sound oasis box - I replied to u about these in yr previous post
Is it expensive have u heard useful
I know plenty of folks who have used TRT (I think this is what you are refrerring to 'Braij retraining therpy') and in ear sound generators and many have found both useful. More info on both can be found here tinnitus.org.uk/tinnitus-an... and tinnitus.org.uk/sound-therapy. The best thing to do is to talk to your audiologist/ENT about these options as they will be able to help guide you in relation to your specific requirements, both of these options are evidence based treatments. As you are exploring these treatments and other treatments I REALLY good place to go is the BTA traffic light page on treatments, it will give the BTA view on the treatments and give more background on not just what they are BUT also the evidence of how effective they are for managing ones T, please tinnitus.org.uk/tinnitus-tr...
Hope this helps in some small way, stay safe
A really useful link. Thank you. I'm beginning to think I'm really lucky because I now have bluetooth-enabled hearing aids for moderate hearing loss. I've taken to wearing these at night, when the T is most bothersome and I can listen to masking sounds on my phone. (I find I can hear well enough most of the time without them, although I do wear them pretty religiously as the additional ability to hear does seem to quieten the T.) I now have much less trouble sleeping because of the T. (From what I read I don't think my T is so severe.)
