I had acupuncture many years ago for pain . It is quite an unusual treatment and I remember a feeling of calm. I don’t see that you have any thing to lose in trying acupuncture for tinnitus , I don’t think it will cure it but it might help with anxieties about coping with tinnitus . 😊

I would agree with Rabbits' post - if you view acupuncture as a potential way to aid relaxation, that's a perfectly good outcome to achieve, as we tend to notice issues like tinnitus much less when we are not as tense or distracted by tinnitus.

Is it a direct treatment for tinnitus? The clinical evidence isn't conclusive. Does it seem to help people to relax and decompress if tinnitus is a source of distress? That does seem to be a common result of the practice.

With the Tinnitus I’m really not sure about going to the appointment now. I was very unsure it could work I think

It’s more for the relaxation side thank you for your feed back . 😊

Hi, I used acupuncture prior to getting tinnitus and found it useful for relaxation and sports injuries, although I have not used it as a treatment for tinnitus. As Pat says there is inconclusive evidence, please see BTA traffic light system for more info tinnitus.org.uk/tinnitus-an...

Along with this, has anyone tried acupuncture to ease vertigo?

I did acupuncture when I got Bell’s palsy which later caused my tinnitus. Honestly the acupuncture worked wonders on my face. It was back to normal in a week. The tinnitus was not helped by the acupuncture. I went to so many docs and had so many tests done here in the US and nothing helped. I finally saw one Nuero ENT specialist and he told me flat out to ignore it don’t focus on it and that every person if they sit in the quiet they can here some time of ring or buzz. You must focus and train yr brain to not dwell on it. It worked for me and it’s 3 yrs later and as still have the ringing and thumping I have learned to live with it. It’s very crippling tinnitus but there is hope to go on living with it
