All I want for Christmas is.......

Folks, I have not posted nor been on this site for a while. I have had a read of a few posts and it still upsets me. So many are still having to live with the horrible condition.

On a positive note, I am still here!!. We often wish people "health and happiness" without really thinking about the "health" part. There is a very true saying that means more as the years tick by- "Your health is your wealth".

My T is still with me and my hearing is going in my right ear. I am into the "Hearing Aid" zone and was issued with a set by the NHS. They have included white noise maskers which are great. Not as good as silence but help with the high pitch whistling.

I went to see my GP as I have sleep apnoea. She took my blood pressure and listened to my heart. She said" Do you know you have a heart murmur?" I started with one problem, now I have two!! More tests!!

So, fellow sufferers, what would be your Christmas wish? Would you use your wish on yourself or for someone close? Getting rid of T would be very close to the top of my list. However, in the spirit of Christmas, I will use my wish to help my wife who has a disability. I know that she would use her Christmas wish to make my T go away.

Please let me know what you would wish for.

Wishing you Health and Happiness; peace and quiet.

Ade

Glad to see you are still being very upbeat about your T despite everything you have been through and now you have another condition to cope with! I also have hearing loss at higher frequencies ( age related I was informed ) and struggle on a daily basis with horrendous tinnitus spikes and chronic back pain. I have just come through one of my worst spikes ever which lasted over a week and none of my old tried and tested coping techniques had any effect on it although my twin hearing aids took the edge off it slightly. It was absolute hell, so being entirely selfish about it, my wish would be for some genius somewhere in the world to find a cure for tinnitus and give the millions who constantly suffer with this invisible illness some peace.Hope you have a quiet (er) Christmas and all the best for 2022.

Hello Jimmuck. Good to hear from you. Sorry that you have had to put up with a spike. I have been there and it has taken me to breaking point. I have been lucky to have good family around me and got me through. I am due to have another brain scan after Christmas to look at scarring. They found some 5 years ago so they need to see if it has changed any. Getting older is no fun.

I think most people with T would agree with your wish. Maybe someday they will crack this nut.

Take care and I hope you have a great Christmas

None of us wishes to die early and yet we all grumble about getting older and our aches and pains. And tinnitus. Is there a paradox? Best wishes to you

Hello Ade. Thats all you need isn't it! More to deal with, health wise. Look after yourself and of course your wife. It is hard (and rewarding) caring for someone too. That is so kind that you think of each other.

For myself I hope to feel content. Happy might be too much of a stretch at the moment 😃 and of course quieter tinnitus...

For a Big Wish - no more wars - please Santa, God or whoever is in charge up there!

Good luck with your tests.

🌲 All the best for the new year.

Linds xx

I think that contentment is a winner over happiness. No more wars would be good but sadly I think there will always be people fighting some where on the worldWishing you peace and quiet. Ade

Thanks for the post. For my wish if I couldn’t use it to get rid of my T and resulting condition of depression and anxiety I would go for the end of the Pandemic so everyone else could get back to ‘their’ normal lives, whatever that is!

Happy holidays and thanks for the interesting thought.

hi Ade - great question -I would use my wish to progress and improve the development my Autistic grandson , even though I am suffering hugely with tinnitus - but I have had a good life ,his life has been difficult from the beginning. Festive Greetings to you Ade

Hello Suz. I hope your grandson learns to live positively with his ASD. It can be hard on the whole family.Nobody has wished for money or other wealth. It is mainly about health, which is nice. Reminds me of a saying " Health is a golden crown worn by those not ill that only the sick can see". Meaning that well people take their health for granted.

Have a great Christmas.

Wishing you peace and quiet
