Aren't I lucky?

I went on a tour of the internet yesterday, starting at the BTI, and most places. I count my blessings today on how well I cope! Tinnitus has been with me 17 years, yes, long. But mine is the sound of the seashell. Not banging of a drum, not variable squeaks and variable noises (which must be dreadful) pulsatile

And in my sleep I have only the occasional disturbance, weird dreams, jerky movement. Not RLS. You deserve my sympathy and you 100% get it.

I am so blessed.

Nice work Spurdog1 It's a good idea to count your blessings .

Here are mine - all of which I didn't think possible a year ago.

1. I can eat & sleep (for 6 hours or so) .

2. I can think & talk about things other than T.

3. I can sit in silence (not for too long of course) .

4. I 've seen an ENT doctor who was very sympathetic.

5. I'm going for a scan locally so don't have to go to the BRI.

🙂

Hello and very well done with all you’ve mastered . I have felt very down myself and I said to my sister today that T has ruined my life . It’s just that I’ve got bad arthritis issues too and sometimes it all just gets too overwhelming for me . 😊 Penny

Aww Penny. I'm sorry . T is an affliction - no doubt about it. I know arthritis can be painful too. You do well to go on all those walks! How are the poodles?

Goldie's good thanks. He's 12 now so he's slow but it suits me . We go for short strolls. Just 10 mins or so . He's good company - like your poodles.

Hi Rabbit65, we all get bad days. Today I'm looking on the bright side. Though hugs for you((())). Sometimes it pays to draw up a list to fight off these bad moments. I don't have a bad day ATM. Chin up

That’s very very kind of you . I just wish at times that I wasn’t living on my own . You lose your sense of purpose . Luckily I have my poodles to look after . Thankyou for writing to me 😊

Rabbit65 I know the feeling, as you know I live alone and rarely see anyone,I try to ride into Wakefield on the bus a few mornings a week, my best friend calls a couple of times a week and that is it. last Wed he went to Tenerife for 2 weeks and I am missing him already.

That’s very good that you’ve got a little routine going . My sister is going to France for 8 weeks after Christmas . I do have a bus pass too but the busses in Bexhill are poor so I drive a car . I’m looking for footwear to keep my feet dry when I walk poodles but I have arthritis in my feet and shoes are difficult to find , trued lots of makes . So have tinnitus just seems to me to add to the pressure . I will try and drive to my sons and grandchildren 100 miles away . Do you have family nearby? Will you see anyone Christmas 🎄 😊

I am a bit of a scrooge at Christmas and will be on my own, My sister in Bradford will be asking but I prefer to stay at home, my friend who is on holiday has stopped asking as I always refuse. Can you imagine having to put up with Tinnitus and a house full of his grandkids. Lol.

I know exactly how you feel . About three months ago I went to stay with my son, his wife and “ three little girls”. When I arrived they were all yelling and screaming about the place. I thought to myself, how on earth am I going to cope with all this? Anyhow, having travelled virtually 100 miles I had to stay. I told myself to just try and ignore it. Luckily they calmed down and Paul asked them to quieten things and they were much better. I enjoyed the visit. I will try them again before Christmas. But I do agree with you , having. T leaves me in a cocoon of my own feeling. Like I’m an alien to everybody else. Do you get that sort of feeling, sometimes. 😊

We all are blessed, all the time. It's just that we can't see it sometimes.

I point out that I am not one for church but I think this one resonates with us all.

One night I dreamed a dream.

As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.

Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.

For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,

One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,

I looked back at the footprints in the sand.

I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,

especially at the very lowest and saddest times,

there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.

"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,

You'd walk with me all the way.

But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,

there was only one set of footprints.

I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you

Never, ever, during your trials and testings.

When you saw only one set of footprints,

It was then that I carried you."

Open your eyes
