Good Morning All

I have my long awaited ENT app today 530 pm

I have rhinitis and I am convinced it’s linked to my clogg block ears mostly left and the ring noise

The clogg block and ring buzz 🐝 is noticeable as. I wake and and the heavy block fuzz ring hiss noise there all day unless I rest my head

Not sure what can be done to elevate the sensation but I do hope there is some sort of way out

When it first occurred 12 weeks ago it was presumed from a swim but as time has went on I have came to the conclusion it’s linked to my rhinitis which is mostly down my left side broke nose which does not help

Does anyone else think link between rhinitis and the clogged ears damp wet heavy feel

Any thoughts of this appreciated

O and any questions I should ask ENT

Hello Andrew, very good luck with ent today, I had to wait so long for my appointment I ended up paying a private specialist. I was very disappointed as I expected ent to do so much more for me and apart from scans there was very little in the bedside manner. However, what you must do before you go is write “ everything” down on paper clearly what you want to ask them and number each point. We all are experiencing our tinnitus in very different ways and so many different sounds and fullness and pressure I find to be the worse. You will be ok I’m sure , as you say you’ve waited so long hopefully you will get a. Dry nice ent team and they will do lots of tests. Make sure you ask for these tests, don’t just get brushed off with them saying “ oh it’s only tinnitus” make sure you ask everything that’s worrying you. Good luck from me, Penny

Thanks for reply . Question. I thought Tinnitus was only associated with noise sensations in many forms I did know you can get the wet heavy clogg feeling I thought that was separate issue !

Well it might be separate! As Penny has said, Andrew, prepare your questions in advance by writing them down and tick them off when they have been dealt with. You may be allowed to take someone with you. If you are allowed to do so it might help if you’re a bit deaf from the symptoms- because everyone wears a mask and it’s sometimes hard to understand Best of luck

Hi no I am fine with hearing even on clogged side it’s the uncomfortable and not able to relax side if things Also my rhinitis plays up as soon as I get ready in the morning that brings on the buzz 🐝

30 minute appointment , Rosshall in Glasgow Going forward to have proper hearing test conducted and MRI scan to get

There after he will make a more detailed conclusion

As it came on suddenly he has ruled out the loud noise theory as I have an office based role

Has has not ruled out the bacteria 🦠 or infection from the pool .

Ear appearance and routes to the ear via canals are all in good condition no blockages no wax no obstruction

Hearing is down indicating noise exposure and or bacteria infection .

Asked why the ears feel full and heavy and wet and kinda drop out he says all in keeping with Tinnitus and age related hearing loss .

Any comments. ?

Thanks Andrew. It sounds as if ENT were very thorough. Good news that there are no visible problems in the ear canals. How did you wait for the referral?

Hello DL I already knew that there was no wax no obstruction and physical ear condition was fine

I also knew I have slight hearing loss attributed to age and nothing out of ordinary

What they want to discover is why only in one ear , why did it happen suddenly and to illuminate other things

12 weeks he said was still within a healing process if it was the infection or bacteria from the pool

Good luck! I also have rhinitis- a side affect from medication, I didn’t make a connection so I’d be interested to hear what they say about that. I was referred for a MR angiogram which shows up blood vessels in brain so you could ask about that. I think that was because mine is pulsatile though
