Many thanks Matt 4489 our focus is what determines our mindset. and your 100% right on concentrating on our breathing, it's amazing how our whole central nervous system starts to calm down and importantly allows us to eliminate any anxiety. Our thoughts drive us, and our motions make our emotions, so gentle focused breathing is so beneficial and tranquil.
Thank you for your post 😊 very needed to day, as I have a terribly flare up. I was eating out Yesterday with my colleques. And have a price to pay today.😢
Thank you so very much. The past few days have been quite bad. meditation and mindfulness help immensely but there are times the battle is overwhelming so this reminder instils a sense of peace. 🙏💯🧘
Hi Nena . Mine is constant too. Every waking moment. I think Matt is talking about the fear & anxiety passing rather than the noise itself. Perhaps Matt could confirm this ..
I think it's really down to self interpretation, however in my case, it is the fear and anxiety etc, as once they are under control, the noise becomes normal.🙂
Yes. I agree . When my T first started I was overwhelmed by fear & anxiety. Gradually I've become less troubled and I hope one day - like you - I won't be troubled at all. A journey I guess.
It does happen, my T has changed over time, new sounds and sensations, each slowly drifting off into the background. You have to accept it's going to do, what it's going to do, don't fight it, if you fight it, it takes longer, allow it, allow it to be part of you, part of your inner sounds, not important.
By the sounds of it doglover you are already well on your way
You are more than welcome. Honeslty it does get better, things become the norm. I call it my new silence and when you fully habituate, you won't even notice it's existence, sometimes I have used it to go to sleep when it's noisey outside, strange as that may seem.
Mine is constant too, it's on 24/7 and has been for the past 30 years, there are times when my brain tunes it out completely and I don't pay it any attention, however typing this to you it's there. It doesn't mean anything now, which makes it not important, so it becomes one of those back ground sounds.
If I listen for it, I can hear it over traffic, when driving, when listening to music, when I work, when talking to people, so it's not a quiet thing.
You are not alone and lots of us totally understand how you feel. It does get better🙂
30 years is along time. Do you think Highway noise make the Tinnitus louder? Do you use any type of ear plug protection? I was thinking perhaps that would be a good idea. Very frustrated over this.
