Hi every 1 I'm after advice please

Found this site and thought I'd post. So my ringing has become more sustained and noticeable over the last month. I started weari g in ear headphones regularly during the lockdown and heard they can cause a build up of wax which may cause the ringing due to pressure? I've not consulted a professional yet as I'm trying Olive oil drops first. Just wonder if anyone can point me in the direction of the elimination process so I can rule out things that could be the cause? Any pointers greatly welcomed and thanks in advance 😎

Why do you necessarily feel you need the olive oil drops? They don’t help tinnitus and I found too many ear drops makes tinnitus worse. You need to see a doctor for advice, or go to audiology clinic or ENT clinic . Good luck

Omg I have the same as you ringing in my ear so loud. Since wearing an ear phone at work. Fullness of the ear and it’s blocked. Spoke to the Doctor was given a spray first which hasn’t touched it which is as 7 day course. Now adviced to use olive oil for 10 days. Then after that the doctor will see me. But will have to go private to get my ear syringed as nhs don’t do it no more. Please help any advice struggling to sleep with the loud ringing noise in my ear thanks Marie x

Be careful with the olive oil. As for the headphones, I just recently, and I mean not even a week ago purchased "bone conduction" headphones, what a joy! You put them on your cheek bones and not in the ears! If you haven't seen them check them out. Look at my post from yesterday and the day before with other BTA folk posting replies about these marvelous headphones and then get back to me...... I'm wishing you the very best from across the pond, and I know that T is horrible, but I finally have some peace and can hear everything going on around me with theses headphones, ps, I always start them off at the lowest audible volume level and raise it up as needed.

Hi Lyrist. I have the same problem since I started wearing hearing aids - six months ago. It seems the wax builds up more quickly. One of my ears is partially blocked now. Tinnitus a little louder. Waiting for GP to advise me on wax removal. Go and see your GP if possible. Or an audiologist at Specsavers or Boots can tell you if your ear is blocked. All the best.

Hi Deebeez, the only other niggle I have is pain in my left should and a crunchy neck. Not sure if it's linked but started around the same time.

Gosh so do I Lyrist, infact when I was losing my balance with the vertigo, I had an MRI scan of my head and vertebral spine. That showed that I had spinal stenosis, multiple disc protrusions and cervical spondylosis. I have been referred to the spinal out patients unit. I do hope that you get some clarification. The medical staff have also requested a neurology opinion. I wish you well and hope that you get to the root cause of your issues. Stay safe and best regards. x
