Minerals and vitamins effect on tinnitus

I’m putting this up to ask anyone if they have had any experience in trying this approach to reducing there tinnitus perception?

Those fine folks over in thyroid Uk have an amazing insight of experience to garner from. What low effects of B12 magnesium ferritin etc and the best way to improve your diet and best times to take supplements together.Read a post which included low ferritin and thrumming feeling.Could that possibly be part of why some of us experience the low hum in our ears? When you look up low vitamins and minerals and anti oxidants effect on tinnitus there’s plenty of examples to be had.Have been looking for posts on tinnitus regarding all this and can’t find anyone with a personal experience of this

Thinking there for to be someone out there that’s took this approach and benefited?

Take care folks!

I'd love to know the answer too. It would be a nice & easy way of addressing the problem .

“Acouphenol “ was advertised in America , but I think it might not be recommended over here .

Hi Jacobite,

I'd love to learn of a connection between vitimans and that low humming sound. I tend to distrust outfits trying to pitch elixirs because so many people have figured out how to exploit our weakness. That said, I'm curious to learn from anyone addressing the low hum.

By the way, I've been reading thousands of posts on this platform since it was launched and the low hum complaints came recently and suddenly, or-I wasn't paying attention to those until I got the hum????

Well apparently there’s connections with vitamins and minerals. Not saying it’s a cure but if it helps reduce tinnitus or the hum well that would be fantastic!? If not at least your boosting your health and immune system that should also improve sleep. There seems to be a connection with tinnitus and thyroid disease too.I first noticed the hum in 2015 when I moved to largs through. My tinnitus first started in my left ear in 2016.After I left Largs I noticed the hum more.Looking in to it it’s been noticed in Largs since the 80’s.Maybe as I kept looking for it it’s just habituation and noticing it more.........

I think with vitamins and minerals it’s worth taking them if you are low in a particular thing, but otherwise a waste of time. Over the years I’ve tried everything, just on the off chance something will work, I still take various supplements including magnesium and ginkgo and a multivitamin and mineral supplement. Nothing has ever helped and my T has worsened over the years for no apparent reason. Mine started with the hum, then the classic ringing. I think magnesium is probably worth taking for ear problems, I take it because I’m on heartburn pills that deplete the bodies magnesium. All the tinnitus remedies you read about on the Internet are just snake oil, don’t waste your money.

Definitely think it’s a waste of time if you don’t need the ones your supplementing.Suppose the only way to know if your low in a particular thing is to have your blood tested. That could help lessen the just on the off chance trial and error.I’m finding there’s a pattern to taking vitamins too.B12 needs to be taken with a B complex and vit D needs to be taken with K2 included.Even best times to take them all to have the optimal benefit.Even heard off people having there tinnitus reduced just by getting there blood pressure under control.Well they say if you change your diet and get on top of your health that can reduce your need for high blood pressure medication.Well they say some of those can be ototoxic.Just heard of a book lately about magnesium. The magnesium miracle it sounds really interesting and will try get it.Then again there’s probably a lot of people that haven’t had any benefit with taking that supplement either. It’s a big jigsaw and I was hoping somebody out there has had there tinnitus reduced. If not the bottom line is you should be a the very least more healthier within

I take a multivitamin and mineral supplement from Healthspan, they do a range for different age groups, and ones for vegetarians and vegans, they contain pretty much everything you need. There are many instances where I’ve read that a particular supplement has helped someone, but I’ve tried the same supplement with no effect. I guess we are all different. The BTA basically says no supplements work and don’t waste your money. But it’s nice to have hope. You might find something that helps, even if it’s a placebo. Tinnitus can be caused by many different things, if your ears are damaged I doubt anything will work. But there are studies ongoing and one day they’ll be a cure hopefully, but probably not in my lifetime.

Philip6 you never know and I honestly hope they do and also within your time! It’s a sinister condition that can come under many a disguise.Yeh we are all different but in the same breath all connected. We live in hope and can learn and understand our own health issuesby communication with others.Others that have experienced and overcome or eased there health condition.I was going to take a multi supplement but would rather find first if I really need a multi or an individual. The vitamin industry is worth a fortune and many say not worth the money.Even cod/omega3 oil supplements have supposedly no benefits. There past there best being on the shelf a few years before being used some say.Well according to professor Michael Mosely. There is a lot of people out there that have benefitted though. It’s a minefield indeed! My hearing is age related but I don’t need hearing aids.Think mine is coming from cervical neck issues. Thanks for your input Philip6 I really enjoyed reading what you thought and have experienced. The pleasure is mine thank you again!
