hey my friend, i have tinnitus, hyperacusis, and other ear shit, drives me nuts sometimes, so i understand, take a breath, find something to quietly concentrate on , like nature walk or something that you are normally interested in, try and distract yourself from it...good luck mate

You're not alone, I have tinnitus for seven years and as of today my tinnitus has gotten louder. I have a hearing aid with masking music. Sometimes it helps sometimes they don't, I try to stay busy. Go to your doctor and ask him to give you something for the anxiety and depression.

Not a specialist but if your doctor gave it to you I'm pretty sure they're safe to take together.

Hi Frank

There are great folks on this forum that contribute in a positive way. Many people are inflicted by this horrendous condition and for the majority of us, it does get better so do not panic. There are treatments out there and ways of coping. We wish you all the best.

Thanks alot getchehgary

I wish i had the privilege s you guys have there in the Uk and honestly i ave doing some deep research abt this for a long time.. I saw so many varities of treatments like.. neuro acoustic modulation and support systems and i felt so bad bcos its not avalaible here in nigeria.. Even if it is an below average citizen like me cant afford it.. Most of the doctors we have here only want money in there pockets sometimes they claim to know what there are doing, they misdiagnosed and the conditions keep getting worse for the patient.. They barely access the situation b4 diagnosis

Am a victim of this cos i ave been treating major depressive disorder and severe anxiety for over 5 years.. They toss me a bunch of pills withouts caring abt the reactions and adverse effects which made me develop complicated neuro conditions like

1. serotonin syndrome which i survived somehow.. then

2. Tinnus followed up

3.neuro malignant syndrome as a result of poor detailed pescription that made me take antipsychotic meds together with antidepressant which exacerbated my tinnitus introducing new and more disturbing sounds

Am at a point in my life now where i cant eat.. I cant fuction and i cant sleep.. drop out of school at my final year cos am unable to meet up with the demands at school... Leaving me devasted like i ave gone mad or something..am confused on what to do next.. Steps to follow i ave exhausted my resources and no one in family is keeping up with me anymore

This is my story from the other side of the world

PLS SOME SHOULD HELP.. MY NEXT OPTION IS SUCIDE

Hi Frank, how are you? I'm relatively new here but my Tinnitus is old and excruciating some times most of the times , like you ,I got new sounds plus tinnitus in the head from benzodiazepines or antidepressants, I took some because of my insomnia , i'm sorry for your suffering I can relate with your pain, I went thru some similar experience and I still struggle can't sleep ( few hours a night, and some times if I'm lucky days I get 4-5 h interrupted) and it makes me depressed. I'm i US , where are you? you can message me if you want to talk to somebody. I see that the post is 3 months old and I hope you are doing ok.

Send you a big hug!
