What ear plugs were you using?

I have some that are designed for listening to live music / music - they take the edge off the volume but deliver excellent clarity through the bass , mid and treble. Washable and Reusable too.

I was using ones that were made for me when I worked in a noisy print factory and with then on I could still hear music well but now they don’t seem to help I have hearing aids because I am deaf to certain sounds like women and children and that sort of tone but now when I wear them it amplifies that tone and then affects my T so I don’t use them anymore.what make are your earplugs and where did you get them from.

Hi Joe, how old are you? Yes loud noises make T spike!. I now wear ear protection for chopping logs for my wood burner. Im convinced that antibiotics has a negative effect on the brain? When I take antibiotics it’s like putting my T on loud speaker though of course we’re all living longer because of them.

Hi I am 60 on 16th Oct had T for over five years now I worked in the printing trade all my life till I had a mental breakdown 3 years ago I all ways wore ear protection at work. But when ever there was live music at any where I lived all way went and was all way at the front so I think my T was caused by this.

Yeah unfortunately concerts are out and I enjoy them and ear buds I do not use no more if I play music it’s low and I use to

Jam to top volumes and went to many concerts front rows and was a machine and a handy man so all the power tools all that added up and now had Tinnitus since I was

58 now I’m 61

Best of luck and wish you Silence

Yes I've had to stop going to gigs even though I've worn ear plugs for 20 years at them which is so depressing as I love music. Unfortunately I love rock music which is obviously the worst kind for T. I now have high frequency hearing loss so can't hear some songs properly.

I experienced something very strange yesterday. went to see the movie YESTERDAY ,very loud Beatles music and great fun. Afterwards I visited my brother for an hour or so. Someone asked me how my tinnitus was and I had to think before answering . At first I couldn't hear it. After a few seconds I heard it but it was very quiet compared to my loud stuff. I was stunned and delighted and it lasted until going to bed, Unfotunately it was back when I awoke and just as loud. I think the music changed my tinnitus for a few hours. I felt really down the whole day

Most music is broadcast at a certain frequency, 468Hz...not good for T,..only Queen ...which I'm not fond of and some reggae is broadcast at a lower frequency.. 435Hz..makes a difference... Give it a try...I hate how music affects me now tho...I don't listen to the music I used to...and that's left a big hole in my life...so I understand, mate

I used to love listening to my music but now I have Tinnitus I can’t listen to it without it spiking my Tinnitus. As much as I love my music it’s just not worth it anymore.

I have the same problem but have found using musicians ear plugs that filter the harmful sounds but don’t interfere with the music it seems to work.
