parasym.co/tVNS-deactivates... found this on the net really interesting but a little bit hard to figure out the full story. But it’s sort of gives you hope. You might want to digest it yourselves. Let me know you’re thoughts

To complicated for me, though great news there is some activity out there to rid mr T from my ears for good, thanks for posting as gives me hope.

Sounds hopeful. I think it sounds a bit like the Neuromod device and the one Susan Shore is trialling.

Seems the way forward is to attach things to our ears, tongue or head and zapp our brains to kick start the bits that have gone awry and re route the bits that stress us about it. There must be something in all this so fingers crossed this is the way to go. Its refreshing to see they acknowledge more folk are being afflicted and thus need to do more about it.

Interesting....

Hi mate, well said I’ve read it and it is complicated but it would be much better if the BTA would look at these things and let us know unfortunately they don’t seem to do this unless I’m just missing it. Cheers john ow by the way I’ve tried acupuncture it does seem to help a little bit but remember it’s expensive around £40 to£50 a session and it doesn’t kick in until about 8 to 12 sessions hope this helps.

I’m like Ingrid, will have to read it again and again for my poor little brain to take it in. But... it did sound promising and I notice the same group of people popping up with positive comments. We will get there in the end! Thank you jbradford. Jenny

It will be interesting to follow this. I would have been very sceptical but for two things: one is that I developed a problem with my jaw joint, and my T got worse at the same time. The other is I was talking to someone recently who had suffered from severe migraines since a child, and took part in a trial; a small stud was fitted in the ear pinna (not the ear lobe) which worked like magic.

Of course, it's not magic... the theory is that inserting this metal stud stimulates the vagus nerve path, much like acupuncture, and can affect the brain. So where's the connection, I hear you thinking...

Since this vagus nerve path is very near the jaw joint - at least that's my understanding - any problem with the jaw is believed to contribute to the dreaded T. So it's not a huge leap of imagination to think that a similar nerve-stimulation technique might just work.

It's worth looking at the Wiki page for 'vagus nerve' for more info. Fingers crossed. No, make that, everything crossed.

Caveat emptor. This isn't a device specifically designed to treat tinnitus, it's basically a TENS device. You'd get much the same benefit from touching a wet 9v battery to your earlobe. I can't provide the link as I can't access the TinnitusTalk website while I'm at work, but this device was discussed on there and someone found exactly the same device but with a different sticker on it being promoted for migraines.

We’ll that’s yet another hope gone up in smoke. Really kills me when I here or see posters and things saying your not alone. Totally rubbish that’s exactly what we are totally alone. Well I know I am. Cheers john ps apart from you lot.
