I have an alert as a subscriber to her channel and decided to listen to her latest vid. She is a vestibular audiologist in Australia. She has had vertigo and T herself and has the approach in her programmes that I am completely on board with. I first became interested in her because she understands neuroplasticity and uses that as the healing part of her programmes. It's how I recovered from anxiety . It all may sound a bit out there and a bit woo woo, but believe me it's based completely on science. I know people will be resisistant to this way of thinking , as it comes at your symptoms not only on a physical level, but emotionally, psychologically and spiritually . In this latest vid she's talking to a lady.from the uk who has pppd . She also talks about her recent eardrum perforation which amongst other things caused raging T again, but her symptoms were soon gone. If you haven't seen her work, I would urge you to have a look. I'm not saying her way works for every symptom. I still believe there is a place for medication. I take meds for chronic pain for instance, but emotions particularly the emotion of fear is central to all unwanted symptoms.

Wishing everyone the most peaceful Christmas possible and here's to a healthier new year

Love Hayley x

Hi there. Do you still live in west Wales in the uk 😊x

I have no.tme for her . She is pedalling something you can learn yourself easily. She is all about the money . Her videos are just to sell a " product". There are plenty of resources availabe which are just as valid and accessible .She hasn't had long term tinnitus. That's the truth . In addition I had some email exchanges with her and she was completely disinterested when she realised I wasn't going to buy anything .

Yay Brett, I checked out her website and at £560 a throw I’m sure I too could speak as eloquently as she does 😂

Her previews are just a tool to Ryan and play on.your desperation and sign up. Brain elasticity regers to the obvious but makes it sounds like she is teaching something unique and life changing . Shameful.

A lot of people don't understand neuroplasticity. I'll have to agree to disagree . I like her teachings.

I agree that what she advocates we can do ourselves, but some people need signposting and help.

time but I can give you a pdf with that and even more wisdom... ironically written by a cognitive expert who specialises in tinnitus who was based in an Australian university ...cost ? It's free , not a penny

Get out there and make a video then. Tell people. That would be fantastic. I'm not very internet savvy. x it takes a lot of hard work to put together a whole package tailored to an individuals needs. I'm a big fan of Julian Cowan Hill, as I believe the nervous system and stress are central to the symptoms of T. Do you think he's about making money. He treats people at his London clinic, and I don't suppose that's cheap, but he also puts out a lot of vids and has a written 3 books. He was a lifelong sufferer and is now free of symptoms. x

Oh, thank you and hello to you Brett. I've looked back on posts and replies, and have realised that you were very kindly going to send me a pdf, which I assume you're referring to here.

Thank you again and apologies for not realising this sooner. x

Hayley, I do videos myself and they are purely to support and help my fellow sufferers. Julian is a relatively decent person. I had some.interaction with him by phone and email.when I hit a testing time this year and.he tried to help me. However , ultimately he did try.to sell me cranial sacro therapy and honestly the cost is prohibitvely expensive. On further investigation it is again largely about relaxation . Mindfulness , meditation and yoga by self practice are going to be just as effective imo.i know it sounds cynical, but I've had this 30 years and I have investigated every option and honestly the best coping techniques I have found are through my own investigation , reading and self work. Oh and another one is tai chi which Julian mentioned to me as an option if I couldn't afford his therapy.

Hi Brett, T started (notice I don't put 'my") in January 2021 out of the blue and just as I was going to sleep one night. I did listen to Joey's videos in the beginning. I would like to look at your free videos though as they sound really good. Can you send to me please? Many thanks and best wishes.

Thanks for posting Brett. I have tinnitus for a couple of years now and recently it got a bit worse. I came across Joey on the net and thought hmm...makes sense and had even considered buying it to an extent but something (in my ear) said wait a minute...you can do this either yourself or with a free source. I live in the Netherlands where some kinds of treatment are covered with health insurance and I am now looking into this. I have a mind to get into more of this mindfullness and stuff. Have just stopped alcohol and intend to keep this up. Yoga would be a good one for me but I need to find a kind of yoga where not a lot of pressure is put on my hands since I have arthrosis round both thumbs. Anyway, am just new here and keen to learn. Cheers.

HayleyStephens in reply to SteveDewar

I agree Steve. What Joey teaches you can do yourself, but you need to know what to do, and have the ability to 'keep with the programme ' so to speak. A lot if people aren't able to do this, and like the support from a 1 to 1 therapist. Letting go, into someone else's hands, as Julian Cowan Hill talks about is a healing thing in its self. I want to lose a stone or so. I know how to lose weight, but haven't a cat in hells chance unless I attend a slimming group where I'm given encouragement, support and info, and the psychology of the weigh ins keeps me on track. A poor analogy maybe, but you get the gist. On another note, meditation is good, anything than quitens the mind is good for our nervous system and any unwanted somatic symptoms. x

Yep. Am also looking for guidance really. Just not really in a position to splash out a lot of cash for this at the moment plus I get a slight wiff of moneymaking tactics from Joey although I believe her work is probably quite sound and works for most.

We all need to get paid for working though. I suppose I'm not really much of a sceptic. I see the good in things on the whole. x

SteveDewar profile image
SteveDewar in reply to HayleyStephens

Being a little bit sceptical can protect you. Sure people like Joey need to make cash. I am a little more sceptical about the amounts of it than anything else. It needs to be affordable for people. It is all very well saying that our health is priceless when you have a good income. I am very happy , on the other hand, that people like her are doing what they are doing. It is for the good. In the end, you have to make choices and go the way you feel is best.

Hi Hayley. Regarding chronic pain I highly recommend looking into the work of Dr John E Sarno and reading the stories of many who have overcome all kinds of chronic pain (back pain, headaches, sciatica and much more). Dr Sarno wrote many books and there is a documentary called All The Rage about this work available on Amazon. I recovered from chronic back pain using the ideas pioneered by Sarno. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Yes, I know of his work. My pain is very well controlled. Thank you for thinking of my situation . Emotions play the lead role in most symptoms. Luckily I have been able to express mine productively, and live a good life xx

The Seeking Balance program is a complete joke and I hope this honest review saves some hard-working person from spending their money on it. Joey presents herself as a scientist whereas she should really bill herself as some type of new-age guru. She might actually have success in that department.

I bought the full program because in her private FaceBook group, everyone talks about their great healing journeys. First, just be informed that if you say anything other than "this program is amazing I'm healing so well" in that group, your comment is deleted and they threaten to ban you. (Happened to me and a number of others I private messaged with).

Second, the program is nothing but fluff. It takes the scientifically valid concept of neuroplasticity and slaps in on a bunch of pseudoscience (things like physically tapping energy points in your body or pretending your own hands can heal). It also covers incredibly basic information, such as the flight/fight response and the need to be well-rested and hydrated, as if it’s some sort of amazing discovery.

Then there’s the bit where it tries to put you in therapy (which she’s very much not qualified to do) asking what our life values are and how we can be more self-compassionate. Participants are assigned vision boards, letters to self, and other hokey exercises. This is fine on its own but utterly unrelated to vertigo, PPPD, and tinnitus.

She provides a few extremely basic exercises for balance. It’s nothing you couldn’t find on the internet with a 10-second search or get from a physiotherapist.

Then there are the hilarious “bonus audios” which is mostly songs she’s written and talks about “connecting to my life force” and “abundance of life”. ?!?!

Her solution to real, life-altering medical problems is to slow down, relax, be kind to yourself, and take a day off. That is insulting and less than useless. The idea is to live again, whereas her idea is to respect your symptoms and let them call the shots.

The one this that I did gain from the program was the ability to accept my symptoms more and not freak out about them when they appear. Anxiety leads to more symptoms, so that is helpful. But seriously, don't waste your money. I'm sure everyone's improvement is nothing but placebeo.

Customer1234 - I bought Joey's program and took care of my tinnitus in 2 weeks after purchasing it. Also, I have had 2 BPPV attacks and it was followed by PPPD. Joey taught me more about the different vestibular disorders than a world renowned Vestibular therapist who is the director of the Vestibular Department at the Cleveland clinic did. Joey's exercises helped me 100%. If you have BPPV she has you do the Hallpike and burrito roll right of the rip, which immediately dissolves fear, and gives you the courage to move about properly to heal. No ENT, Neurologist, nor another Audiologist told me to do that. She filled in the blanks in a major way to explain why these disorders cause lasting PPPD. Yep, it is a "dizzy-anxiety-dizzy" cycle, and all the guarding we do after an attack prolongs healing. So does Antivert (anti-dizziness meds) benzodiazepines, and antidepressants. So if you're taking any of that, or any meds like that you're never going to completely recover. Meds don't allow the body to recompensate properly. As for the part where you said she's not a therapist, well maybe not. Not a licensed one. But, I've been to a handful of therapists in my life and they all sucked compared to Joey. A license doesn't make a therapist. But, patience and empathy does. And, Joey is empathetic, patient, intuitive and very smart. These disorders usually do have physiological basis, but she even says: once you get medical clearance then try her program. She says herself she was told by physicians in her own personal experience, after tests etc. "Sorry can't do anythjng for you. You have to live with it. But, no one tells you HOW to live with it." And, that's why she created the program. These things are stress related many times too. So you have to be willing to change your life. And, if that means getting rid of a nasty job or a nasty person, well it's your choice. Be healthy or put up with a nasty life. That's the whole point of self care. And, sorry but as a society we suck at self care. If you're running around with a nasty commute, a demanding job, raising kids, caring for your parents, starting a singing career and volunteering for example, then you're just a spaz waiting to explode. This "hurry up" world is the very reason why people get shitty illnesses like vertigo. And, we damn don't know how to slow down, or more so we live under a fake belief that we have to "go go go" or we are a loser. That's not the case That's where Joey comes in. All of Joey's exercises helped me. Not sure what you're looking for ?? Ear drops?? Pills?? It doesn't work that way. Meditate. Slow down some. If you treat yourself like hell, you're gonna feel like hell. Are people really being honest with themselves when they fill their lives with being workaholic, or showing off or traveling everywhere or over doing ? Why to please others expectations? Self care starts with being honest with yourself. When I had my BPPV attack a year ago I was the most stressed I had ever been in my life. My mom died. I slept horribly for 4 years. FOUR YEARS! I was stuck with my asshole dad. Yeah, some changes were in order if I wanted to survive.

How much did you pay

I also did Joey's program and in combination with some other techniques (e.g. vestibular physio, Feldenkrais), it has worked for me. I know I can attribute a good portion of my recovery to her program as I had truly plateaud with vestibular rehabilitation. She gives scholarships to people on limited incomes and I benefitted from this.

Cons: My personality REALLY clashes with Joey's and some of the cringey yoga speak gets very far up my nose.

Pros: It works. I had done all the self-study I could manage in my condition and without a human science background. I was seeing a great vestibular physiotherapist,. dabbling in mindfulness and applying neuroplasticity pain management techniques to my vertigo and central nervous system, but I felt like I was floundering and I was questioning whether I was on the right track. It requires more than just mindfulness and relaxation. Joey's programs provides the tools and process to heal the parts of our brains that are messing with our balance and related senses. Yes, she does get into anxiety management tools and none of them are revolutionary (tapping for example, is a well-recognized approach). This aspect is important as any feelings or thoughts that are keeping our sympathetic nervous system racing, are impeding recovery. I chose to get outside EMDR counselling but not everyone has that options.

In regard to the Facebook forum, it is kept positive (celebrate this victories) and healing so it is a safe space for people healing (no risk of taking on someone stress and pain unexpectedly). There are lots of other spaces to post reviews, complaints and ask for help. Sometimes, you just need a little hope and to keep focused on feeling well, hence the rules in her group. And, it is her group.

When you are anxious, tired, dizzy, nauseated and having vision problems, it's hard to pull all that info together and implement on your own. Joey's program does that and supports you to keep with it.

I fell victim to Joey Remenyi's program. I can say she is all in it for the money. I watched her youtube videos and her kind act played on my vulnerability and desperation to get help. So I did her program which was so expensive but I was desperate. Come to find out, the program was pure rubbish-nothing of value in it at all. Really truly. So silly me, i paid to do a zoom face to face meet with her instead. She claimed that the time spent would be for me to ask her anything I wanted and to tell her what I needed from her. Ok? Well I asked her about her personal story with tinnitus and her journey towards healing. And I also asked about tips for what to do to aid in the neuroplasticity process. Dont you know, she would not answer one question as she claimed I needed to 'think of a color that I liked and place it in my heart'. I asked her what does this mean? What are you talking about? Can you explain what the purpose of this is? Again, no answer. She was very rude and dismissive though. Not at all how she 'acts' in her advertisment youtube videos.

Bottom line is she is a greedy, wicked, cunning person who takes advantage of people's desperation. No one who cared to help people would charge as much as she does to help them. Or they would create a program that was down to earth and supportive in nature. Please, anyone who reads this, do not fall for her trap as I did.

But please do know, that when suffering from tinnitus distress, you can heal on your own. It sometimes takes a lot of time, but your brain will figure it out naturally and start tuning out the sound eventually. The key though, is to try to live your life as normally as possible and just endure patiently until you start to feel better. Once this begins, the road to recovery picks up speed.

This is free to do. No scam artist, like Joey, has the right to rip you off. Do not trust her. She does not have suffering people's best interest at heart.

I was really optimistic and wanting to see the best in her, but I watched a video today where I couldn’t help but feel that she sounded dismissive of her interviewee. I then wondered why she doesn’t have comments on. Maybe it was just the one video that came off this way? I don’t want to be all-or-nothing about this but I really got a negative, dismissive feeling where she kept going back to talking about her program and didn’t make it about the interviewee at all, or rather, used the interviewee’s words to segue into talking about the program. Even when the person said she was so thankful to her, Joey responded in a very impersonal way. It rubbed me the wrong way. I don’t know. Open to thoughts? It’s hard for me to watch someone if I get a stand-off-ish vibe. Maybe she was having an off-day?
