Interesting....if it's safe, why not try it. Many of us are low on D and I've got a couple of wise friends recommending I have my D level checked.

How long have you been following your vitamin D routine J? Also, how long have you suffered with T before starting with the vitamins?

My list of things to try is getting longer & longer, as it makes sense to only try one thing at a time, but yours might be jumping to the top of my list!

I bought a book about tinnitus from the mid-80's off Ebay a couple of weeks ago, that includes a load of Q&A sessions from the BTA and there are loads of medications noted in there as being (quote from the BTA) 'worth trying'.

I am pleased you have found something that helps, jbradford42.

This is just my personal opinion, I'm not medically qualified etc etc but... large doses of vitamin D do seem to have a positive effect in neurological conditions such as MS, where nerve signal transmission, for lack of a technical vocabulary, goes a bit wonky. As some of you are aware, I have MS and I have phantom sensations in my hands and feet (amongst other things). I also take large doses of vitamin D (currently 10000iu per day) and when I do take it, my symptoms are less. Is it a genuine improvement, or is it placebo? I don't really care, it means life is more comfortable for me.

Although vitamin D is pretty safe to take, there can be side effects, particularly a build of of calcium in the blood, it can make hardening of the arteries worse, and cause kidney stones, so do check with your doctor before jumping in with supplements (I'm under the care of an MS nurse).

Warmest wishes

Hi guys, just to be clear I spotted this on Twitter I’ve not actually tried them myself. I understand the vitamin D bit but when someone says to take 1000iu that’s the bit that I don’t understand. I’ve tried zinc 15mg and magnesium 250mg and b12 witch actually says 1000pg on the bottle and I will try the vitamin d after I’ve squared t with my doc. My T is as loud as ever so I’ve got to at least try them on trial. I’ll let know how I get on. Ps can anyone explain the 1000iu bit. Cheers John.

Sorry mate, I was just trying to figure out the 3000iu and 1000iu that was what I couldn’t understand. I wish it was that easy to get rid of my T. So apologies as I wasn’t thinking. Remember my T isn’t minor it’s mega loud in fact probably the loudest on the T scale like a constant loud scream so it isn’t easy to concentrate. Cheers John
