After wax roval?

My tinnitus has got more troublesome recently.had wax removed and iseem to be more affected by certain sounds,especialy when driving, seems to be all over my head.i am dreading i have hypercusis as had this before when i got tinnitus 12 years ago .has anyone experienced this also

I've had major problems with my tinnitus and also deterioration in my hearing when I've undergone procedures to remove earwax in the past. I've had both irrigation and microsuctioning and experienced problems with both. I have an appointment later today for my latest check / clearout, but I've asked that they do what they can manually, with ENT tackle, rather than risk provoking my whistling friend.

Yes I experience the same as you. I dread going in the car as my noise is so much worse. I have trouble with everyday sounds now . A dogs collar that tickles as it walks, motor bikes, car that have squeaking brakes even wind in my ear,. I feel the need to wear earplugs but of course then the tinnitus is even louder. Hope u cope better than I do as I have developed depression and anxiety since this started .

Hello and welcome to the British Tinnitus Association forum.

Tinnitus can sometimes be more noticeable after ear wax removal as the brain and auditory system adjust to the increased input now the muffling effect of the wax has been removed. Your tinnitus should settle down over the next few days.
