I would like to thank everyone involved for a well organized expo. The talks I attended were accessible and informative without being preachy. It's certainly encouraging to learn about the research going on.
I was particularly impressed with Isobel's story of recovery especially as music is a big part of her professional life. That said, the cynic in me can't help wondering if her story would have been different had she come under a different area of the health service.
Even though my tinnitus spiked early on, I stayed to the end and had a question answered in the Q & A session.
I've come away with a few ideas to delve into when time permits.
I hope other attendees found the day equally interesting.

I'm glad you found the day of benefit Keoni. Isobel's story was very positive, and she's been a great supporter of the BTA. But I think she went through some very bad times to get to where she is now.

Does this Tinnitus conference rotate between the home countries? If not, why not? I would not go to Birmingham but as I live 12 miles from Edinburgh I would make the effort to attend a BTA conference. I’m sure people living near Cardiff and Belfast would feel the same as me. Just food for thought!
I would be happy to go with them to Dade County Miami! Maybe you could ask Torryn Brazell at the American Tinnitus Association if they're planning something similar. She gave an interesting talk at the Expo about things on your side of the pond.
I agree. Had the expo been in Edinburgh or London it's unlikely I'd be able to go. I do hope they can arrange something similar in your area but these events are costly to set up and, no doubt, have logistical problems.
Hi HissingSid - this was our first ever Expo, so hopefully we can find the funds to repeat it and take it to other places. Wherever we go, we're going to be far from some people, but we'll try our best!

Hi Keoni, id like to read about isobels experience is there a copy anywhere or maybe put me in touch with her. I was a full time musician and still get offered some work which I have to be selective about but I feel my T has got worse even wearing ear protection so id like to see what she does also how she copes with T as mine drives me crazy and am considering giving up playing completely thanks drumcraw
She is featured on the Take on Tinnitus website. She has her own website (Google Isobel Anderson). There are also YouTube videos and newspaper articles such as Huffington Post which pretty much summarizes her talk. She's produced 4 albums to date and one of her songs is about her tinnitus.
