Hi Tracey

I was already taking Amitrptyline when my T started and I tried ginkgo biloba a for a couple of months and it was fine for me - unfortunately it didn't ease my T but it may be different for you!!

You can always ask in a pharmacy if you want to double check!!

You may want to check with a pharmacist or doctor (not the staff at a health food shop, as they don't have medical training) to see if it's okay. Ginkgo biloba can have a number of side effects and may interact with the amitriptyline.

There is no evidence, by the way, for the effectiveness of ginkgo in treating tinnitus, and it's not something we at the BTA suggest.

Best wishes

Nic
