brufen gel and riveroxaban
GP is referring me to orthopaedics but has suggested
brufen
gel. I asked if it was okay with riveroxaban and he said yes intermittently. Does anyone here on blood thinners use
brufen
gel?

advice re knee pain.
I have also resorted to
brufen
, though I’m not meant to due to a severe stroke 5yr ago. I’ve tried ice and heat with little benefit. Does anyone have other options. also is it normal for the pain to go from mid shin to the outer thigh and hip.

still in pain.
Hi I am still supplementing my Prednisolone with
Brufen
and paracetamol. Pain in right jaw and head continues. I am so tired of being in pain. Next appointment with Rheumatologist is July 24. Spoke to my GP who is reluctant to change anything.

update on leg pain with rheumatology nurse
It’s potentially the
Brufen
I’ve been using that’s caused the rise in liver function, so need to stop that too. So basically nothing new to offer except to be put on the cancellation list to see the consultant, which she can’t say how long that potentially could be.

A gentle slow trot
I’d been doing gentle exercises to try to relax my tendons and had used some
brufen
gel to reduce any swelling or inflammation. So all felt ok. I went off slowly for my warm up walk and then set off at a slow pace.

Jaw pain
Yesterday was dreadful, pain everywhere and I seemed to have a reaction to
brufen
, very nauseas and off balance. Today I doubled my steroids to 8 and stayed away from
brufen
. Still painful on opening mouth wide and eating but nothing like yesterday. Doc is ringing back tomorrow to check.

Can you help me with a few queries please
I was able to stop the 800mg of
brufen
I was taking twice a day and was pain free. I haven’t had to return to taking
brufen
but my knee is still very swollen and stiff and my shoulders are still stiff. Will this go? Or am I expecting too much?

Not sure if methotrexate is working
I am having to take 800mg
Brufen
twice a day to deal with pain and stiffness and this seems to work. I started this this week having had a weekend where I was so stiff I could hardly walk. My left knee has been swollen to twice it’s size. This is the joint that gives me most pain.

Problems with Pregabalin
But they put me on
Brufen
which had little impact, so just put up with it. Since SBRT radiation on my new met on my T10 vertebrae at the end of March the nerve pain seems to have increased. Since beginning Pregabalin I have become breatheless during exercise etc.

Anybody else using paracetamol and nurofen/ brufen in addition to prednison for the PMR symptoms??
In May 2021 I will “ celebrate” 4 years of PMR. Now, mostly on 3.5 since about 1.25 years. Had various flares over this period, so very cautious with diminishing my prednison dose. I feel the paracetamol/ nurofen added saves me taking a higher dose of prednisone.
