Try E45 anti-itch cream and also Boots own version as each contain a different type of agent to reduce itching.

Hi, I am PUGSMOM and I think I know what's going on with the itching in the middle of your "BACK". You indicate that you see no breakout marks or any signs topical rashes. So this tells me the itching is coming from under your skin. Do you also feel the itching on your BACK spreading to the Left OR Right to the SHOULDER area? And Again, you see no BREAKOUT/RASH? If so, this is a sure sign of "SHINGLES"!! I have had SHINGLES "TWICE", and both times it started in my upper back; however, SHINGLES CAN "ONLY SPREAD" to the LEFT OR RIGHT SHOULDER AREA, NOT BOTH SHOULDERS AT THE SAME TIME. You need to see your physican. If you had CHICKENPOX AS YOUNGSTER, you are a perfect candidate for the SHINGLES VIRUS. My physican told me that it's a form of the HERPESVIRUS. Catch it before you breakout on the skin!!!!!!!!! VERY, VERY PAINFUL. I am 61, but I was 50 with my first breakout with Shingles and 58 with the second breakout. First, was from the middle of my back to my LEFT SHOULDER, second from the middle of my back to my RIGHT SHOULDER. I waited to late to see my doctor and boy did I regret it. Worst pain I EVER HAD. OUCH, OUCH, OUCH, CRY, CRY, CRY!! I pray this was helpful. PUGSMOM

Thankyou Pugsmom I'm afraid my itching never moves it always stays in the same place.I've seen my GP he didn't seem to think it was anything to worry about, but I've had it for several weeks now usually first thing in the morning on waking. Thanks again Pugsmom
