Pbc tests

Hi,Wondered if anyone could help. My pbc had been stable since diagnosis. In fact my blood levels lowered to normal figures once on the medication. However for the last 6 weeks I have had a lot of upper abdominal pain and it appears a bit swollen. My ALP blood levels are now borderline rather than in the normal range. I've got an ultrasound in a few days to look at this. Could it be that my pbc is progressing? And is it possible for my levels to return to normal again or is there no going back? I'd really appreciate any thoughts.

Hi Lizzie, I have PBC /Autoimmune hepatitis crossover. I get flare ups every so often. I put it down to the AIH rather than PBC though. They give me a short dose of steroids which usually sorts it out. Then my levels are back in the normal range. I’m not sure if they would do the same if it was just PBC but you could ask.

Thanks so much. I've actually just been to A and E. They suspect gallstones !
