Hi there my LFTs have got increasingly high over the past couple of months. My ALP is currently 159 u/l and my ALT is 468 u/l .. I’m due to see a specialist but has anyone else had high levels like this .. doctor suspects it could be a blockage in my bile duct ? Would appreciate any advice

Sorry to say we aren't able to offer suggestions as to what may or may not be going on as regards your high blood results. Obviously the specialist to whom you have been referred will be best placed to investigate further and carry out necessary tests and interventions.

My ALP has been going up too...it was 135 6 months back and now it is 175...did you get your diagnosis yet?

Evening . I actually saw a specialist today. He has requested to my doctor that I’m just monitored at present and if my levels continue to rise then he will refer me for a fibroscan and possible liver biopsy. He says at present he isn’t particularly worried. He suspects it could be fatty liver disease and for me to continue loosing weight

oh I see. Did you get an ultrasound done? I'm getting my ultrasound done next week. I have been eating healthy...cut down the sugar altogether...still my ALP went higher.. a little disappointing!
