How is kidney function measured in cases of acute kidney injury?

Lab reports for eGFR have a note saying it is "invalid for acute kidney injury".

What test is ordered as an alternative and how does it work to allow for kidney injury?

This might be a question better asked on the Kidney Disease Foundation forum at:- healthunlocked.com/nkf-ckd rather than here on the liver trust one. Our knowledge is more liver than kidney.

The Kidney Research UK also have their own website.

kidneyresearchuk.org/condit...

Here is the NHS page on Kidney disease/ tests;

nhs.uk/conditions/kidney-di...

This is a forum for liver concerns so as Katie suggests, you may want to contact Kidney research UK for more general kidney info.
