Ultrasound of liver normal, all blood work, normal, fibroscan came back showing no fibrosis.
But I have “liver pain”. Right upper quadrant, back shoulder pain, I can sometimes feels my liver pulsating, hurts in the front as well. I also have very red palms, (Palmer erythema) which I've had for over a year now, and now I’ve noticed that my nails have pink/brown bands at the very top. The lunela is still showing, but it really looks like Terry’s nails to me. These appeared out of nowhere. All this started about a year and a half ago with simple itching in my upper legs and lower belly, which went away if I stopped consuming alcohol. I also had a complete loss of appetite if I even had one sip of alcohol. I was a heavy wine drinker in the evenings for about 5-6 years. I could drink up to 2 bottles. I did this every night, with a few breaks in between. Since these symptoms started, I have stopped drinking daily, and first went to weekends only, then cut down even more, not drinking anything at all 5-6 weeks at a time. All pain would go away, within a week or so. I never went back to drinking daily, Abe would only drink when out to work dinners, etc. the last time, I drank about 6 weeks ago. This time pain will not go away. What looks like Terry’s nails have appeared. My fibroscan was about 3 months ago. Docs offer no solution. Is it possible that I have cirrhosis of the liver and it has not been detected? Is it possible that with a few nights of binge drinking I could have taken my liver to a point of no return? Hard to understand why I have all these symptoms and docs say I am completely fine. Anyone else had this experience and where later told, oops, sorry we didn’t catch it.

Hi there obvs we can't make diagnoses here and I'm not going to comment on terry nails/red palms. You sound very similar to me when I fist joined this forum. If you've been caning it for years then you've probably got at least fatty liver. Stick with the abstinence- it can take months for symptoms to abate. Watch the diet and weight too. All the best
Thank you for the reply. It’s been 7 weeks since I’ve had any alcohol, and I don’t have a problem not drinking, aside from when there are work trips and everyone drinks. That’s been hard. But I will abstain from that now. but all the docs have told me that it’s fine, Which is frustrating. Would an ultrasound of a fibroscan pick up the fatty liver? For diet, I think over all I’ve always been good at eating vegetables daily, but never ate fruit. I’ve incorporated fruit high in vitamin C such as lemons, and mandarins, bananas as well for potassium. I am also not overweight. But I was a smoker. I’ve switched to vaping in an attempt to quit altogether. This whole situation has been so stressful. How can everything come back clean, with docs telling me I need to see a psychiatrist because this is have “too much” anxiety and I am too concerned over nothing. I know what I feel. I know for sure my liver is inflamed because I can feel it pushing on my other organs, I can feel it pulsating, and it is crazy painful at times. The itching has gone away, even though it was the worst itching over ever experienced, but the red palms seem like they are mine to keep. I’ll keep watching the nails, the bands appeared what seemed like overnight. I appreciate your feedback.
U/s will pick up fatty liver at a certain level-did you get your GGT levels checked-that's often a good indicator. When I first had issues my GGT was 18ish which took months to reduce to 160 nothing on u/s but all symptoms disappeared. However fatty liver worsened which did show up on u/s later
Yes, I had 8 (IU/L) in March and 11 (IU/L) in October. I’m in the US so our range of normal is 9-64. So mine is on the low end. Can you have fatty liver even is your not overweight, or even underweight? I understand that alcohol can cause this, not just diet?
Hi when u have liver disease then stop drinking then start again. The liver doesn't like it. I stopped drinking the symptoms cleared up after 6 month. Then started smoking abit. Just like alcohol smoking it toxic. All my symptoms came back but this time symptoms lasted 17 month only just easing off. So my advise is don't put anything harmful in your body for your liver to deal with. Look after it from now on. Alcohol and smoking batters it. All the best
