Does anyone know why my Kevin gets the shakes. The shakes can be all over not all the time and appear to occur without obvious cause.

The shakes when they occur makes walking difficult and effect his dexterity.

Thanks

Hi

I have not experienced shakes that bad or heard of it being reported

Prior to the transplant I lost the ability to write (So did others)

Even post transplant, I only type now

It might be worth talking to the hospital, some of the drugs I have been on have caused shaking

Look after yourself

David

Thanks David.

I shall mention it when we are at Leeds next month x

Please do consider reporting this to Kevin's doctors. It is very important that they assess it to see if it is related to his liver diagnosis.

Best wishes.

Hi Pam.I only got shakes post transplant and it was due to my Tacrolimus dose being too high. I know that this won't be the case for Kevin but I would check the leaflets of any meds that he's taking and look for common side effects and also uncommon or rare side effects and see if there is any mention of shakes.

I once had problems with a blood pressure tablets that I was taking, not shaking, but oedema with one and feeling dizzy and muscular fatigue with another. Also I would press your doctor over the issue of Kevin's shaking and get him to look into the problem if it's nothing to do with his meds,

Best wishes as always,

Alf.

Does he also have a high temperature a the same time? My liver problems were only properly researched after I had presented with serious shaking and a high temperature which generally lasted about 12 - 24 hours. It was diagnosed as Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) which is a recurring infection of the bile ducts. I was given anti-biotics which sorted it quite quickly.

Hope you find the cause.

Hi, no he doesn’t have a temperature we have been to the GP who just said it was all part of liver disease and didn’t really respond.
