Hello, newbie here.

Could Iask if anybody that is post transplant has had a conversation with their consultant and or transplant coordinators re the Covid vaccine and what their opinions and views were? Many thanks, Martha.

Hi Martha,

At my last telephone consult I asked that question. As far as they are concerned they believe both vaccines to be perfectly safe for us.

There was an email from pbc trust yesterday that also stated the Covid vaccine in any form was fine for people with liver disease and immuno suppressed.

I have my trainers on, waiting for the call, and I’ll be hot footing it to the centre!!

Good luck, Andy.

Hi Huggy, thank you for your reply. In fact, i heard from my consultant yesterday afternoon and was told the same! Such great news and much relief. I was transplanted in December 2019 and am so looking forward to a normal life again. Best wishes.

Hi Martha, I was at SLTU Edinburgh in December and asked the Consultant about the vaccine as I was worried if it would be suitable for people with a transplant and she assured me it far as she knew it was OK for us, we just have to wait for it and hopefully it will be soon.Myself, I can't wait for it! I had my transplant in 2019 and had hoped to get back to a normal life in 2020 and be able to travel again, hoping it will now be in 2021.

HI

I spoke to my consultant yesterday at QEH

I was told all vaccines are ok

so that's what I understand

I am only repeating what I was told not giving medical advice, because of other issues that could be involved
