F3 possible f4 fibrosis

Liver pain question. Without drinking, does the pain start to lessen? Labs, CT scan and ultrasound all normal so I'm hoping it heals some. Any insight would be great

I have no fibrosis, nor liver steatosis and I still have liver pains to include deferred pain in right shoulder.

Im not sure one can always be certain that the pain is coming from or caused by the liver. There are a lot of things in that area kre likely to cause pain. I have similar pains

If your pain is persisting, please return to your doctor for assessment and diagnosis.

If you have stopped drinking alcohol, that is fantastic and is the best thing you can do for long term liver health.

I'm waiting for another fibroscan. I had one three months ago that put me at 14kpa so f3. I drank two out of three of those months but after stopping days ago, the pain in liver area has gotten worse. Ultrasound yesterday came back as a little fatty so we're redoing a fibroscan. How likely is developing cirrhosis in that amount of time? I can't sleep because of how worried I am

If your Ultrasound and CT do not show cirrhosis , it will be unlikely. Repeating the fibroscan so soon may not show a change in results either.

Your anxiety and disturbed sleep pattern may be due to stopping alcohol. I am sure our forum members will share their experiences of this . It will pass, but please seek medical assessment if it continues.

I can't tell you how much I needed to read that. I was drinking heavily for two of the three months, but I mean it took years to get the point of scarring. I'm sure it's worse, but I just didn't know if it would change that drastically in that short amount of time. Thank you for help and support. I really appreciate it

I've had pain where the liver is fir 3 years. Clear ultrasound, 3 normal panels and clear x ray. I am now being sent for a CT scan as my gp thinks it might be referred pain from my kidneys due to ropey urinalysis results. The pain could be coming from somewhere else in the body, even from inflammation in between the rib cage.

I've had tons of tests done. I have liver problems that it shows. Severe scarring. So I figured it was from that

If you are having pain on a regular basis you should go and see your doctor it could be caused by other things I had gallbladder problems and that caused pain in the liver area and in my right shoulder. They should do a liver function test to see if your liver is inflamed and if there are any blockages in your bile ducts.

Can your liver be inflamed with somewhat normal LFTs? Because I've had good blood tests and the doctors still told me that the pain is probably from it being inflamed

If your AST and ALT are in the normal range then it is unlikely it is inflamed but you should discuss it with your doctor. You can have normal LFTs and still have something seriously wrong with your liver.

Yeah I have f3 fibrosis. But I'm wondering why it's always painful there. And what all can I do to start to reverse that damage?

Your liver has no pain receptors kreeis. You will have pain though if it’s inflamed. Cirrhosis has no pain it’s the complications that come with it.Please, take the warning. You are not jaundiced, you don’t have odema or ascites and I presume your appetite is semi okay.

Abstain. If there’s any inflammation it will subside. The scarring won’t but the liver is wonderfully versatile.

If you keep drinking after seeing the health problems that arise, please be assured that as sure as eggs are eggs, your liver will fail..

I’m not trying to frighten you. Give yourself and your poor body the holiday of three months abstinence. See the difference. If there is not a vast improvement I will eat my hat.

hi there-my bloods have always been normal other than elevated GGT. I get twinges rather than pain though

Yeah I guess that's kinda what it's like. It just doesn't really go away. I'm hoping with not drinking it will start to subside after a month or two

This is encouraging to me. I had a similar situation where I ended up relapsing and drinking over the holidays, though I'm back to sobriety now. My tests before were clear so it's good to know I can focus on recovery without worrying that my binge somehow massively destroyed my health,
