Hey Shezza ! Who told you to do a fasting diet??? You have liver problems you need a proper healthy diet love. By starving yourself, as well as all the health issues, your metabolism ( the rate at which your body burns off calories) slows down so as soon as you start eating normally any weight you have lost will go back on very rapidly. Please speak to your GP about a referral to a qualified liver dietician to help you with what you should be eating in order to remain healthy, upbeat and maintain healthy weightloss. Make sure you get daily exercise too.

Good luck and take care.

Hiya, I second what Laura has posted. Speak to your doc about a liver specialist dietician referral. Liver conditions need a different diet. Take care 😊

Hi I feel the same and anything i do does not make a difference , I exercise 3 times a week and try to keep to a good diet but nothing shifts so I am with you.

Hi Sparky. Maybe you too could benefit from having a chat with a liver dietician? Unfortunately it does take more than "trying" to eat healthily, it really does take willpower and complete dedication to lose the weight. It does become stubborn and at times your weight can "plateau" meaning the weightloss stops and you think what the hells the point. It's at that point you have to be even more determined, stick to those healthy food choices, do some extra excercise and you will see those pounds start to drop off again. You need to be burning off more calories through exercise, each day than you are consuming. Stick with it, good luck.

Thanks for the reply, I have been waiting almost a year to see liver specialist and to see a dietitian but with covid 19 I have been put on a back burner. Just hope I see someone soon.

Sparky.

Hi Unaware, I see you've asked a couple of times for a liver diet, there is no such a thing since it is very individualized advice which is dependent on what is the cause of your liver ill health and the staging of it. i.e. someone with fatty liver as a back ground needs something totally different from some one who is say malnourished and building up for transplant.

Your best course of action would be to try and see a liver specialist dietician who will carry out a full exam, with your background and needs in mind and advise on the best diet plan for your stage of condition.

The British Liver Trust has some guidance on food and diet from those who are at the 'looking after your liver stage' to those who are needing to eat to manage their conditions.

Hi shezza

Am 2 years post liver transplant and found my weight creeping up and my abdomen was constantly feeling bloated so I went to slimming world 4 weeks ago and so far lost 8lb but more importantly for me my abdomen feels so much better I believe it’s the food am eating as although I get full at meal times I don’t get that heavy feeling

Wishing you all the best
