Still morning sickness!

There’s one thing for sure... your liver and pancreas are amazing pieces of engineering... but very mysterious. (I’m ALD cirrhosis)

I’ve had bloods checked and there’s no answer yet. I’m not diabetic but this somehow relates to the dawn effect that diabetes patients experience.

I wake between 4am and 5am still (every morning) and have to vomit straight away (and bowel movement.... sorry!)

My head feels ‘tight and foggy’ (for the want of a better description).... for a few hours. And then I’m fine for the whole day.

I’ve been booked in for another scan, but bloods are kind of acceptable. They say it might be hormones causing this. Even blood sugars through the night and morning are fine.

Has anyone got any experiences of this please?

I do eat an orange when I feel sick as another member previously suggested... and it does work. But waking up at 4am, vomiting, eating an orange, and then going to work is OK, but not great!

I’ve tried changing the times I eat, and the times I go to bed... but it’s always between 4.07am and 4.59am.

Anyone Have any experiences like this?

Best regards

Matt

And yes, before I get told off... I know the rules BLT.. I’m not looking for diagnosis just advice :) Thank you

No not at all. I did have episodes at the very beginning of my diagnosis but they were more like I had picked up a stomach bug and lasted about 5 days.

Have you tried ginger? Like drinking ginger tea, or a glass of water with ginger before bed? I say this because I read someowhere that ginger is good for women with morning sickness (quite apt for the title of your post 😂).

I generally feel a bit sickly when I take my last dose of lactulose on a night, I have a small ginger biscuit and all is right again.

Thanks for the reply Jazzjam. My doctor is pretty stumped by it aswell.

He wants me to go for an MRI and a CT, because I get this strange headache too.

Was up like clockwork at 432am today. Now I’m totally fine again. Really strange.

I’ll try the ginger tonight and see if there’s any improvement
