BOPPP Trial

Hi All

I started the BOPPP trial at Kings College on Wednesday as my Varices are small, and took the first tablet yesterday. So far so good.

Is anyone else participating in the trial?

I’ve read about it but not sure if I am understanding it ok. I am not on the trial but I take carvedilol for portal hypertension. I did have small varices 3 years ago but none since. IAre they checking to see how well it performs against placebo?

Yes that’s gist of it. I’m already on Ramipril and amlodipine for high blood pressure but they beta blocker is usually given once they hit a certain size. Couldn’t see a down side to doing the trial

Absolutely, they wouldn’t give it to you if it would cause harm. What you are doing is a really good thing to help people for the future and yourself. Hope you are still feeling ok and no issues.

Hi Steven, gosh I would like to wish you all the best I have been a patient at Kings for 5 years, unfortunately didn't even meet the critera for Immuno, but had to stop all other Chemo a the old body could not take it so just hanging on in there but I do wish you all the very best keep updating the forum and I can follow..
