Update on Transplant

Hi all

Just a quick update, hubby is now making progress, still in intensive care, but they have removed the ventilator. On kidney dialysis but hopefully that will come good too. I know we have a long road ahead of us but I honestly was scared we might not even get the chance to go on it!!! The staff here are all angels ❤️

I hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected.

Geraldine 🤗

Hey Geraldine, almost felt my shoulders drop when I read this. Thank you for the update. The impact of it all may hit you sometime later so do - whenever possible - give yourself time and any reward just for you that you can manage. Of course the real reward will come via your new healthy lives together. So here's to that and continued improvement.

Keep checking in when you're able to or need to.

Love and best Chris. X

Hi Geraldine. Great to hear that it's steps forward. I'm sure another 24 hours will bring even more of those steps.

Make sure that you look after yourself while hubby is being looked after. Get a few sleeps and some regular meals and teas/coffees/juice/water.

He's in really great hands so take your chance of rest now because it will be a busy time for you when he is discharged.

Wishing you both better news every day.

Alf

Hi Geraldine, thank you for sharing this great news! Like greatalfred said, eat, drink, sleep, and get ready for the next step towards being home and well xx

Oh Geraldine, delighted to see an update from you and more importantly even more delighted that hubby is making progress, you have both been in my thoughts and prayers. Continued good progress, you take time for yourself too, it’s tough on you as well, I hope you have someone there with you pet to help you through the trauma and the wait. Huge hugs and prayers heading your way xxx

Hi Geraldine happy to hear your husband is making progress after his transplant!

Things soon after transplant can go a bit up and down as they try to get things under control and settled..it's not an easy operation to go through but hopefully as time passes everything will get so much easier for your husband and you can relax a wee bit more knowing things are improving. 💕

Hi Geraldine, We are with you every step of the way on this journey. Lean on us when you are scared, tired or just want to chat--we truly know what you are experiencing and can often brighten the next few steps of your uncertainty. My husband Kev and I are praying for you both and in our thoughts. As others have said, you must care for yourself to be any good to others so go for that cup of tea and a proper meal. Accept help from those who offer like a meal or help with driving or housework--people want to help so let them. And of course we are here, though scattered around the globe, we can offer you support when you need. Be strong friend, in no time you'll be sitting in a park, by a river or the sea watching the clouds pass, hearing the birds and feeling the sunshine and breeze and thinking--well, wasn't that something and look at us now! Hi Geraldine,

Thank you for taking the time out to keep us informed. Many of us are thinking of you both.

But do heed alfs words. You must look after yourself. I was more concerned about my partner than I was myself after mine!! Do take time to rest, Danny is well looked after.

So glad he’s battled through his initial trials. They make them tough over the water!! 😜.

Good luck to you both.

Andy.

Great News Geraldine,

I'm so so glad he is finally on the mend, and I pray it will continue.

Don't forget to take a wee break yourself, you have been through quite a bit, and need to stay strong for Hubby. You are in my thoughts and prayers,

David

Thanks Geraldine for the update! My fingers are still crossed along with lots of prayers being said!

Remember you must take care of yourself too !

Love to you both

Thanks for the update Geraldine. I’m so glad to hear that things are improving. Remember as long as things go in the right direction even baby steps are good. Look after yourself as there are bound to be a few ups and downs on the road ahead, but as you said we are lucky we get to walk that road and we will get to the end. Good luck abs take care xxx
