155 alt level and sudden stiff ankles

Hello. I don’t know if this is completely unrelated but I posted two months ago about the sudden increase in alt level. It went up to 155. I’m at the specialist on Thursday.

Since the increase, I’ve started with very stiff ankles in a morning or when I’ve been sat down for a length of time. I’m starting to wonder if it’s related? I’ve never had the issue before.. but getting out of bed in a morning I’ve literally started to become very stiff and hobble about a little probably five mins or so. Then it’s fine. Does this at all sound crazy? Or could this actually be a sign of a bone issue?

Good morning,

It does not sound crazy and is certainly something to discuss with your specialist on Thursday. I hope your appointment goes well and that you get answers to your questions - which hopefully you will have written down beforehand !

regards

Could be anything but i hope you dont drink anymore because that alone effects joints .no doubt the drs will advise you . I had joint pain yrs ago looking back all alcohol related .

Thankyou. I haven’t drank apart from one or two for an occasion. It’s so strange like I said it’s only started recently. Other than that I actually feel healthy. If I hadn’t gone to the drs and had this blood test I wouldn’t know anything was wrong

Hi taylor

I have no medical knowledge at all except my own experiences. Are you on any medication? When I was on a particular blood pressure tablet I had pains like that and they eventually turned into gout (NOT saying your pains will!!! Just mine did). Changed the tablets and it was like a magic wand! Gout and everything gone. I was about 40 at the time.

Hope you get it sorted tomorrow. Good luck.

Hi miles. The only medication I was on was lanzoprazole. But the doctor has taken me off it due to my alt rising. He thinks it maybe because of that! I can’t understand why my lower legs and ankles have become so stiff. This all seems to have occurred since coming off the depro pill injection. Alt went up and lower leg area became stiff. I just hope it’s not had an affect on my bones. Other than that I feel ok. Not fit as a fiddle but ok.

Did he say if it would take a while to return to normal? Stopping some of the things I had post TP still affected me for weeks if not a month or two afterwards. (I mean the ones with not so nice side effects).

Let’s hope you find out more today 👍.

Hi lamtaylor. I remember having a problem with walking and stiff ankles a few years ago after I had some blood pressure medication increased. As soon as I went back to the original dose I was fine and could walk again properly. Regards Alf

Saw the consultant today. My liver scan was normal. But he’s done dither blood work for autoimmune issues like hepatitis etc and gastric and live immune disorders. He couldn’t see anything major. Just need to find out why my ALT is what it is. Sore ankles he doesn’t think is related but has done a rheumatoid bloods just in casE. He’s booked me in for 4 months but could be sooner depending on bloods. He didn’t seem overly concerned

Well I suppose in some respects that’s very good news! But that doesn’t or hasn’t yet solved you leg issues ☹️. Hopefully you’ll hear something before the 4 months is up!

It’s strange. I literally only need to be in bed for half hour. Get up for the toilet... can’t walk. So very odd. Never had this issue until the blood tests came back with an issue. 🤷‍♀️ God knows

Right... so got a letter from the hospital. Liver function bloods and other bloods I had done all came back normal. No for further investigation??? How on earth is that so? Do you think I should speak to my dr? How can my ALT Go from 125 to 155 then the bloods just come back normal?

Hi taylor

If you are still having ankle/leg issues I would definitely go back to the doctor. There seem to be many many types of blood tests that can be done targeting specific issues. They may just have not done the right ones yet. As I said before though I have no medical knowledge except my experience!

But deffo a case to be followed up imho!

Good luck
