Alt rises again

Hello. I wonder if someone can give me some feedback. I had a blood test 4 weeks ago. Showed raised ALT OF 125. Everything else was normal. So I did another one last week. It’s now gone up to 155 and my blood count was just ‘ satisfactory’ dr thinks it’s due to taking lanzoprazole.

He’s sending me to see a specialist. As I do get a dull ache under my right rib cage. I also suffer with constipation regularly too. Not sure if that’s got anything to do with it?

Can anyone tell me if this is a real issue If all other levels are in normal range?

Ps I had bloods done in March which where all normal. And a scan which showed normal liver and kidneys?

I dont know much about lanzoprazole but quite a few drugs can lead to abnormal liver function tests occurring. Whether this is the answer in your case we couldn't really say. But your doc seems to be doing the right thing in referring your on to a specialist to check. If everything is usually normal then the chances are it could well be something relatively simple causing the issue. That's probably more likely than anything too sinister. So, good luck and let's hope that's the case.
