Hi Peppy,

Sounds right! Get a box to keep track, then put an alarm on your phone, a note on your mirror, ask partner to remind you. I'm only up to five so far, you win! 😛

Hi Peppy,

I’m post TP about 6 months now. I was on 13 different types pre transplant. 9 immediately after and after 6 months I’m now down to 6. For well over a year I was just a pill monster. It felt for a while as if that was all I was doing. Eat, sleep, pills, repeat. It does get better. I’ve never managed to get the leg bit sorted however. That’s the most annoying thing ever. I can deal with most of it but trying to sleep and my legs thinking we are about to go for a run in the worst. If you find out a way to stop this, please let me know.

Cheers Will

Thanks Willho, Dr. Put me on gabapentin 300mg, I've been on it for 3yrs. One in the morning and one in evening around 5pm. That's when it really start to act up. I've been on it for 5yrs now 2yrs before I was diagnosed with cirrhosis. And it works great, even doctor doesn't know what causes it. I can take it long term because it doesn't metabolize in the liver. I hope it helps you. Take care. Peppy05

Hi Will,

Have you tried magnesium? Check with your own doctor first of course, my husband takes it and I have taken his 😮 when my legs are really cramping. Don't forget bathing with Epsom salts if you don't want to add to the pill box.

Hi Peppy05,

My husband takes 6 pills in AM & 6 in PM, 3 of which are different plus lactulose. One is Centrum Silver and one is Alpha Lipoic Acid, so they are over the counter that were prescribed by one or the other of his doctors and not questioned by the others.

If your doctor prescribed them then I'd guess you should take them - if not prescribed make sure your doctor[s] know everything you take even if you only take it on occasion as we do with Tylenol.

Best wishes,

Mary

None of us are medically trained and the very best person to ask is your liver consultant. I did this on my last appt in March. Better to be safe than sorry and mine said it is all about balance and quality of life. I go back on Wednesday and have a drug to discuss with him to control my psoriasis. My dermatologist will prescribe it but after damaging my liver from using Methotrexate, I am uber cautious. Hazel xx
