What does a ‘borderline’ liver test result mean?

Hey! They have asked me to repeat the test annually, but I’m freaking out because they have not even slightly explained what borderline means. I understand the definition of ‘abnormal but not abnormal enough’ but do you have a better or more in depth understanding?

The best person to have asked would have been the person who told you you were 'borderline'

Maybe it means just outside the normal range - so if "normal" is 200 then 201.

However if you are worried then ask for a further explanation.

If you don't have any symptoms then try not to worry, our bodies will respond to infections/inflammations and as a result levels are not always in range. If they are very high or stay elevated then Drs will usually investigate further.
