Hi

I have recently been diagnosed with AIH

I am currently coming down on my steroids and have started to take AZA. I do feel a lot better than I did a few weeks ago and I have no jaundice now. I still have mild aches and pains in my stomach and also bad bloating and slightly swollen ankles which ache. My palms have a red rash and them (not itchy). I was wondering if anyone had experienced any of these symptoms. I also have an under active thyroid which I've just lowered my meds for as advised by the doctor, as my levels were too high. Anyone with an insight into AIH could you give me any advice.

Thanks

Tracy

Hi Tracy, I have AIH for 8 years. I was lucky to only be on steroids for 6 months and have been on AZA from week 2 after getting the blood test results and having a liver biopsy. The only problem I have suffered are aching joints and dry skin. Can I suggest you join the AIH UK site where there are a good group if people who all have different systems and will be able to give you great advice x
