Big hug coming your way jojo. Hope your hubby is home to look after you soon. Can sympathise with the asthma ,used to get it so badly up to my twenties that some days I could hardly walk. Hope it eases before long. Stay warm and cosy. Alf

It's got to slip sometimes, I just hate losing my independence its definitely the worst thing about being ill ๐Ÿค’

I can totally identify with what you mean about being crocked blocking your independence [or proud and stubborn my daughter says lol] Getting annoyed with yourself wont help your asthma but it is frustrating when you cant do much. My stint in hospital has buggered my muscle mass. I'm trying hard o get some back, cant snap a tissue or peel a grape! I get annoyed with daft things like not being able to open bottles. Now I leave them out so next visitor can oblige . As Lynne said let your hubby pamper you when he gets home. My daughter explained to me that as I have always helped them I have to accept this being reciprocated. Bet your a giver which means your not good at receiving? Im not as bad as I used to be,but its taken 10 years Others want to give just the same. told I make a good nurse but an awful patient due to being impatient. Hope you feel improved tomorrow, Love Hazel x

Maybe you could ask your husband to do you a packed lunch? A good book may help. My hubby liked adult colouring in books . Hope your health picks up soon xxx

Only just picked up on your note JoJo, and wish from afar that I had a magic carpet to fly over to you with some food and comfort until your hubby returns!

Hopefully next time your hubby will have time to prepare and leave you some food by your bedside or chair until he returns!

All I can do for now is send you a huge HUG and hope you improve soon!

Take care my friend

Love Trishi x

Hi,

Iโ€™m asthmatic also so understand how you feel, as when I have a bad chest itโ€™s difficult to do anything. Hopefully you will be prescribed some different antibiotics and those and the steroids will do their job for you. Ask your GP about upping your inhalers until you feel better. (Donโ€™t do this without their say so). Take care and feel better soon.

Hi jojo, hope your feeling a wee bit better today, I think itโ€™s harder for a woman to loose her independence than a man, as most women tend to organise the home...ok, I know not all women, but most. Keep your chin up. Hugs.x

Hi jojo. Your cold is really infectious, I give you virtual hug and then I get my first cold for five and a half years!! LOL. Are you able to take any cold remedies? Wife was going to get some Day Nurse liquid but chemist said 'NO!' She came back with some linctus for a tickly cough and some menthol crystals. Alf

I keep my fingers crossed it doesn't go to your chest hope it passes quickly xxx

alfredthegreat profile image
alfredthegreat in reply to jojokarak

Thanks jojo . I'm doing the honey and lemon drinks and the paracetamol. Will try pineapple. It's moved to my chest in the last few hours. I only have what is classed as mild asthma now but colds normally find my chest. Hope yours is beginning to shift. Roll on summer!! xx
